They could fix that easily, CF could just create a new USL League One team. Build a small stadium in the Ashford Dunwoody complex. Then their academy teams could join the league with AU. LOL. CF build a stadium?!? Haha haha. GB won’t even pay for paved roads or running water for bathrooms. Smh GSP has a pretty nice building now with real bathrooms and running water. While your intent still rings true... there's at least that.

Must have opened after the first weekend in November, that was the last time I was there and I had to use the porta-potties.

Gotta pay for that gravel. And to wait for the ultimate frisbee tournament to get off the field you're about to play on...

That is correct. NCFC is going to field two teams for every age group. Players/parents were notified yesterday. Is this to accommodate and replace their old model of having a pseudo NCFC North and NCFC South within the now former DA structure? Actually not quite. North and South were only at the U12 & U13 age groups with all kids funneled onto one DA team for U14 and up. NCFC used to also have a 3rd DA group at U12 & U13 called Del Sol which was their all Latino teams. NCFC already had boys ECNL the last two years so I don't understand their big announcement on that side (they've had girls ECNL for years). But that's NCFC (Casl) style, trying to put polish on a turd.

Lol I have to say that searching for enough shillings to meet the $1 gate entry fee for GSP, to me is one of the most annoying costs associated with Soccer. Even worse than the fee I had to pay to watch my kid play at Disney's ESPNWWOS 😡😡😡

I actually found out that the $1 dollar isn't for Concorde, or soccer related at all....but is a required fee by the city.

CF now has ALL THE MARBLES. AT this point, CF and SSA should probably just merge completely. Imagine if CF were to dissolve the alliance, SSA would be left with...NPL? Most of you know i'm not a fan of CF and especially their "leadership." However, even I have to give credit where credit is due. IMO, not only did CF come out smelling like roses, they were one of the first to trigger what ultimately came to fruition yesterday evening with the eventual dissolution of the US Development Academy and their demise. CF played the game initially, having their feet in both DA and ECNL, for both boys n girls. Maybe they listened to their stakeholders, maybe it was dumb luck(shade, I know), but they "realized" the error of their ways with the girls and promptly returned to ECNL, securing a second team to assimilate having two top level teams. They kept boys DA and also reaped the benefit of now having boys ECNL. Fast forward a couple of years and voila, they come out with no net loss of teams but instead gain by adding another ECNL boys team to their current in-house team. Furthermore, they finally got their act together and even though it seems like it's a 1000 miles from their practice elementary and middle schools(yes, definitely more shade) club locations, they now have a "home" in GSP with superior fields and the still annoying as fudge $1 park entry fee. Kudos to GB and his lieutenants for orchestrating a nice turnaround....👏👏👏 Phew, honestly, that was painful to admit in writing, need a drink and a shower 🙄

FG, I'm hearig something very different.
I'm hearing Concorde isnt going to have any quality players left to fill their top teams next year. Most of the players that are at Concorde are there for DA and with DA now gone players will start to look for the better options, coaches and clubs (ie: development).
Its one thing playing for KK or SD when they are one of only two options in the state. Now that the playing field is leveled players have a ton of options available to them. A coach told me just this afternoon his phone is blowing up with Concorde players looking at options.
And so it begins!

Serious.

forumguy didn't even think of that angle, thanks for pointing that out. I had heard the musical chairs of clubs was already beginning, but I naively thought it was for more PT. cleansheet, that is some interesting news, do you mind sharing more on why they are going to Europe, how they came to the decision to leave for Europe and what they hope to gain by not playing here vs there (other than the obvious... thanks

Also how did those kids get settled on the European clubs in 24 hours? No trials obviously, so how?

So I may be able to speak to some of those that actually migrate over to Europe to play. One can always find a "pro" club in Europe or Latin America to play at. The real question is what does it take to get there. First off, many of these clubs are not in the top flight league(unless you know someone and you will owe them). Secondly, you do pay in some way. Most of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th... etc. level league teams won't charge you to play or train/trial with them. You will have to pay your own airfare, housing and lodging. It may necessitate another adult being the caretaker in a foreign country or the parent themselves making the trip. Personally, I'm not uprooting my kid and breaking up the family to make a temporary move to another country on another continent on a whim. If a club wants you, it's simple. They handle everything and they've got tangible proof to go on of your skills e.g. 2004 seen at GA Cup this past October for AU that got a princely welcome to come tryout for Man United. So be careful about false promises and grandiose stories of how this is the sure fire pathway to the professional league in Europe...

That carrot is now gone.

I’ve heard of quite a few leaving UFA’s DA to come back to GSA now that DA is gone. No incentive to drive an extra hour plus to play in the same league.

Yes, the tryouts for the ECNL Boys and Girls are going to be very interesting this year. I believe we will end up seeing some incredible Teams being formed and a lot of great games being played right here in Georgia. Lets just hope that these clubs don't turn this into a money making opportunity and ruin it for the kids.

Two boys off of the KSA National Championship team and are now in college playing at UAB and Maryland, went over to Europe to train and play at a club for 1 1/2 -2 years. They enjoyed the training, continuous soccer environment, and scrimmages but said they were not allowed to play in "real" games because of them being from the US eventhough they both have passports from other countries besides the US.
One of the kids was originally offered a spot with AU during their first year, but turned it down before moving to Europe.
Development wise, it was a fantastic opportunity for them but not to play when the game counted really did not sit well for them.
