I know that the clubs are their hands tied somewhat but has anyone heard from their clubs regarding tryouts and potential dates? I am sure it is a moving target for them but at the same time folks need to plan potential vacations, etc.

I highly doubt there are many planning their potential vacations right now.......

My kids go to summer camp very far away from where we live and we have to fly them up there and stay in a hotel just to drop them off and pick them up. We are awaiting to see if camp will be open before we book everything but given that it is in July it is highly possible that camp will be open. We have to plan work time off around this as well. We also want to visit the grandparents when it is safe (I am sure MANY people are considering this). Some people need to give vacation days 2-3 months in advance at work. It would be nice if they (the clubs) all came out and said something like when they would decide to pull the plug on the usual time, whether they are considering something in the middle of summer or whether they plan to do it right before the season starts.

I don't think that's new info.. pretty sure those are the dates that all the local clubs normally have tryouts.

I would also say that posting those dates does not necessarily mean they will actually run tryouts on those dates. They are just posting it in April like they always do. They still could be postponed by COVID 19

Communication from GSA is that they are planning tryouts as normally scheduled. They even went as far as to say they will be opening registration for tryouts on May 1.

According to Governor Kemp's press conference just now, things are opening up this weekend and/or Monday. Restaurants, movie theaters, bowling alleys, salons, gyms, etc. Seems like if that doesn't completely backfire that it may be possible.

Unfortunately we won’t know if it backfired for two to three weeks — the time it takes for the first infected to turn into Walkers . . . er, um I mean cases. Even the shelter in place hold-outs will be overcome by cabin fever seeing everyone else getting on with their lives. For myself, I’d love for things to go back to normal. For the elderly, and autoimmune suppressed, I’m concerned.

Bunch of damn Karen's on this board. Unfortunately their box of rose wont protect their parents from the secondary peak. Here's the thing, a person can both take this seriously AND take necessary precautions to get on with life. If anyone is uncomfortable doing anything... by all means, stay locked up. I'm done with the panic porn. I'm capable of two thoughts simultaneously and I'm betting most responsible adults are as well. A person that's too scared to get on with it shouldn't be given the general okay to shame anyone else that will - or the ability to rat them out if they aren't succumbing to the same fear. Seems way too many ppl are way too comfortable giving away any freedoms they may have and way too comfortable ratting out their neighbors for not being in the same mindset. Too many Karens.

I understand your smugness about it. I've been a registered Independent for decades and have used the same argument about policy decisions from both political extremes. Never used it to deny science though, so I guess that's where we can agree to disagree. If we dont see a dramatic increase in infections and deaths from this reopening, I'll not say another bad word about reopening.

All I said was I'm capable of holding two thoughts in my head as the same time. SCIENCE dictates that I know this is serious AND that I can take necessary precautions to avoid infection while also getting on with my life (especially considering I'm not in a vulnerable category). Using that same science, again, I'll take the necessary precautions as to not infect others should I become infected due to my actions. If you are not comfortable - by all means, stay self-isolated. But it's pretty much the definition of smugness to dictate that everyone else follow what you prescribe to as the best way to live. Are you also the type that will turn in your neighbor for not following what you're told should be done?

As you are saying you know better than epidemiologists, are you sure you want to talk about being smug? But glad you can hold two thoughts in your head. Congrats!

This is starting to delve into Mark Twain “never argue with stupid people, they’ll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience” (obviously paraphrased) territory. I’ll let others decide for themselves whom is who in this situation BUT will also remind you all that this thread was seemingly about club communication. Again, form a separate thread for locking of political horns.

Ok, Karen.
Not sure why this was directed at me as I was trying to be impartial, but now I figure you must be the guy everyone hides posts from on Facebook/other social media. Bundle of joy, tonight, you are.

Bundle of joy, tonight, you are.
It’s called shaming. An attempt to discredit, and silence those that don’t agree with his viewpoint. Exactly what he doesn’t want others to do.

Did anyone catch whether parks and fields will be opened as well? I figure since hair stylists, movie theaters, and bowling alleys will be, parks and fields would be, but I haven't seen it listed anywhere.
