it's a quality read, my favorite quote has to be:

I don't think there's any pro sports team in this country that has their closest game 900 miles away. Once they tiered it, once they listened to the Dutch guy or whoever was in charge, they ruined it. I knew that if that was going to continue we were going to have to leave. You can't have your closest game 900 miles away.

I really wish they did not have a paywall for all of these articles. Is there really no advertising that they could sell to make this a free site. Or at least keep some articles free (like Topdrawer soccer) and put others behind a paywall?

I just pay the minimum subscription every month. They cover youth, college, and pro soccer in the US better than anyone. Well worth the subscription!

Bernie James played for the Cleveland Force in MISL when I was growing up in NE Ohio. Dude was the slide tacklinest (on old school AstroTurf) shot blocking beast. His club got hosed by USSF DA after regularly beating the MLS academies. I love when he speaks truths about the BS.
