I am sure GSA and AFU will add a team also. Wouldn't be surprised if Concorde doesn't.
Wonder if Concorde would send the Premier team down so they could work their way up to ECNL. If I remember correctly I don't think the SCCL team is that strong to move up

Tophat's team would not change. UFA would like still have their Norcross teams in it. SSA would likely still be a second team/third team depending on age group and whether they got ECRL or not since they don't have ECNL technically. Whether you realize it or not there are still SCCL (second and third team) players that play in college. The issue would be who would ECRL play against if it existed in Georgia? Everything is so fluid right now there is no way to know what will happen. This whole spring is one big hot mess!!!

I think if they got 2 or 3 teams here in GA they would make a play to have it go through the Carolina ERCL. It would basically be the same footprint as NPL.

Abraham Iggy Moleka: we are still going to compete in NPL Could be just the boys he was speaking of. Could be true for both genders. Could be that last week he did not understand that the loss of DA for the girls would snowball additional teams out of NPL into a totally new league that did not exist until this week. The girls' side now has 5 teams.

I don't think GA clubs would be invited to Carolinas ECRL. There were originally 8 teams in that league, i think 2 clubs had 2 teams. I would expect CSA to put 2 teams in that league and NC Courage 1-2 more. A 2nd tier league with 11-12 teams doesn't need clubs from GA for additional travel.
So if GA gets added to ECRL it would likely be a new SE league. It should include UFA, AFU, GSA, Concorde (1 team, not the Premier ECNL team)...but also SSA and AFC (ECRL includes several non-ECNL clubs). It should also include FC Alliance, TN SC, BUSA and likely VHSC...to keep travel partnerships.
There would likely be potential spots for Roswell and perhaps some sort of alliance club (Chiefs, Rush, Ambush, Impact, etc). Possibly even an agreement to promote from SCCL.
This would make for a weaker SCCL to be sure, perhaps it becomes a stepping stone to ECRL with club-based pro/rel from SCCL-P. Perhaps we could have a club-based pyramid.
But I don't expect this to happen in 2020.

I find it hard to believe any of the SCCL teams would move their teams from SCCL to ECRL since the clubs have full control over SCCL. It is possible clubs will move their NPL/NL teams to ECRL and join some other local clubs, such as AFC and Inter Atlanta.

If I remember correctly I don't think the SCCL team is that strong to move up I think it might depend on the age group you have in mind. I know some of the SCCL teams would be a good fit for an ECRL. In fact, quite a few SCCL teams have faired well when playing ECNL teams. Some wins, some losses, but overall they should be solid enough to be considered for a 2nd division team like an ECRL.

But I don't expect this to happen in 2020. Really what you are describing is the SCCL-C with some new additions (AFC, Tenn. clubs). So either they should rename SCCL-C to ECRL, or keep SCCL and expand it to include those teams. I'm thinking, due to the control they have with SCCL, it would take a demand from their customers (Big 6) to change it to ECRL.

It depends I think. ECRL is making waves across the country, ECNL is staking its claim that ECRL is the 2nd best league (behind only ECNL). Many clubs will want to be part of the thing (and to charge more for it)...it will have more pull than NPL. I'm sure SSA and UFA would love their 2nd teams in ECRL instead of the diminishing/decomposing South Atlantic NPL. NTH has made SCCL-C their 4th team tier, disrespecting the league that most clubs are putting their 2nd teams in. One would think that joining ECRL with all the other BIG CLUBS around the country would matter more than control of their own league for their 2nd teams. They will still have their control from the 3rd teams down.
And its more than renaming/rebranding the league, its applying to ECNL to start a new division. Perhaps SCCL Champions bracket goes away at that point? Or perhaps its just a division below ECRL with pro/rel for all clubs (effectively becoming the Athena A to ECRL's NL Piedmont...but all club based).
I think UFA, SSA and AFC SHOULD BE working together to make this happen now. But more likely next year.

The big 5 clubs need the local(ATL-area) marketing and control. That is why it was created. If access to another, better league in ECNL was granted to all or part of SCCL clubs, they would get rid of SCCL-P and pull up those teams into SCCL-1 bc the marketing is better if you say all teams were "promoted" You are also correct that getting into the ECNL is much more than "gee let's call ourselves ECNL/ECRL." The ECNL application requires(and enforces the reqts-NPLs problem) organizational resources, ownership of physical resources, and a track record of success that clubs not currently in the ECNL do not have. That is precisely why it is the most sought after league.

Don't you think TG at Tophat would tell ECNL it's all in or nothing. The reason I am asking is isn't ECRL the 2 division of ECNL? I would imagine he would put the team in DPL which is the second division of GAL. At this point DPL/GAL need to spend a little time updating their website and making it clear whether there will be DPL and GAL. That is not clear to many people and with the way that things are changing all parents of kids in leagues other than ECNL known clubs (and maybe GAL declared clubs) are confused as to what the he** is happening. Personally I would assume that NTH would not do ECRL if it happens in Georgia this year or next, but you know what they say about assuming...

All I know is Tophat needs to say something. Their is a ripple effect that it will cause through the club of they do 2 GAL and 1 DPL team.
Tophat top 2 teams are use to the travel but the parents/girls of the 3 team will now need to know travel cost has just doubled if they leave SCCL for DPL. Also have to recognize if they stay in SCCL team (4th Team)might cost them an opportunity at looks for college

Also have to recognize if they stay in SCCL team (4th Team)might cost them an opportunity at looks for college Yes! They need to communicate! So do other clubs. As this GAL has supposedly added Wake FC to its ranks this leaves NPL as 5 clubs (as of now). UFA, AFC, SSA parents I am sure would like to know whether they are going to have a 5 team league playing against each other and TUSA (a weak team in most age groups) and Chattanooga FC. If you are a TUSA parent are you going to want no partner to travel with (Wake is nearby and was their partner)? Chattanooga and TUSA would both have to travel to Atlanta twice (one time to play 1 team) unless they consider Chattanooga an Atlanta team (which is not fair to them). For TUSA NPL would make no sense as it is now. They lose nearly every game and would be traveling 6 hours for all away games to play only an 8 game season?!?! This loss of DA has had a ripple effect on all clubs. In some ways positive things have happened for clubs. Wake's addition to GAL is a plus for them. Beach FC and other West coast clubs that joined ECRL I think is a downgrade. Different leagues shrinking and growing and being added or changing like US Youth's plan for a nationwide club based league is making this whole thing crazy!!! At least if the clubs send out an email saying that they are looking at the current landscape and trying to make some decisions for their 2nd and 3rd teams now might settle parents down a bit rather than feeling like you are being ignored.

Regarding NTH. They have already shown that their top 2 teams are in GAL. My assumption is that DPL will continue to exist BECAUSE Mount Pleasant/Surf SC and Palm Beach Gardens are NOT included in GAL. Perhaps they were unsatisfied with DPL and seeking other leagues OR they're staying in DPL (where W FL Flames were SUPPOSED to be going). So yes, NTH do need to let families know whether DPL will continue to exist and if their 3rd teams will be in it.
Regarding ECRL. No, NTH wouldn't be factored into that plan. For whatever the actual reason they were left out of ECNL. ECRL is for some clubs 1st team and other clubs 2nd team. Especially if their top 3 teams are in GAL/DPL.
You know what's an interesting idea though...if NTH was allowed into ECNL next year (with stipulation they wouldn't be able to play in GAL)...would GAL Southeast simply fold? Its a competitor to ECNL and I think ECNL would want to crush all competitors. Plus, NTH would really not be happy with the perception that CF has 2 elite teams and they only have one...even though we know the reality of the situation *cough* SSA *cough*.

I don't know if they are "Power 5" D1 schools, but not all players want or desire to go to a big school to play.

I agree with those who are saying SCCL kids can go to college. Getting a scholarship is about building relationships with the coaches early on. I know an SCCL2 player who just got a scholarship to Ga. Southern and that is D1.
On the other hand, the ECNL player won't get a scholarhsip if they happen to barely slide through school with low grades and have a reputation as having a bad attitude with coaches and teammates.
Lot's of variables determine who gets those offers.
