Getting word that because of the shear size on the Boys side, ECNL is inquiring about maybe creating a Florida only League to reduce the 17 teams currently in the SE division...

Hoping on the boys side that means this will reduce the number of trips to Florida?! It was a little insane this year, back to back trips.

On the boys side they had created a North/South division mid-season for the U13/U14 age groups on the website. It didn't affect travel as we still went to Florida way too many times. It was interesting to see though as it came with no explanation. Would be really nice if they did finally split it.

It would have been nice, on the girls side, if they would have added a few teams to Florida. Then moved the South Carolina teams to join Georgia and Alabama (plus TopHat and maybe another Atlanta club), thus splitting the southeast into 2 conferences. The ECNL map would then mirror the SCCL map and the Georgia clubs wouldn't have to worry about all the Florida trips.

Wow how bad must it suck to be a top girl in Tennessee that plays ECNL at FC Alliance or Tennessee S.C.
I assume due to Tennessee playing HS soccer in the proper season unlike Ga, S.C. and Bama they have to travel up to Indiana, Ohio, western PA and what looks like Buffalo NY.
So for all you female dogging about traveling to south Florida just be grateful instead.

I get the impression girls ECNL won’t add any more teams at this point and now is more focused on ECRL expansion.
The boys side can support more highly competitive clubs in some areas and they appear to be adding a few. However, this needs to be tempered with expectations and possibly “club” pro/ rel.

ECRL needs to supercede NPL on the girls side in FL. NPL appears to be the primary instate league in FL.

If I was orlando city -- my top u13 and u14 teams would be playing ecnl vs the mls league
Southeast will have to be split into regions -- given at u15+, some clubs will opt in for 10 month season, some will not. or you go with 1 game against each team vs home and away.

Last year it was home & away between GA/AL/TN teams and 1 game against FL teams, and vice versa.

10 month season for non-MLS is silly IMO. Play club soccer August-to-February then play HS ball, beat up on your opponents or learn to lose with grace...and learn to dodge dangerous tackles. Then in May come back for state/regional/national tournaments. Its only like 2-3 months of HS soccer.

This is an interesting move by Chattanooga Redwolves joining ECNL Boys. Hearing they may also join the new MLS league 🤔

They are currently in NPL and they have 2 locations, Chattanooga and Dalton. Remember Gatorade player of the year, Omar Hernandez plays for the Dalton location. Strong players in Dalton so I can see them competing on a high level for any league.

exponential growth -- that might make 114 boys ecnl teams which is nuts given there are still - I think 17 states not represented. come on alaska and hawaii! (yes I included them in the 14)
ecnl in 2 weeks almost has brought us back to where we were years ago, when everyone is in the same league. still a few hanging around not part of the party though -- that's the issue -- very very hard for the small club to get the invite.
