Guess just to the top club teams. Unfortunately I did not receive one Email was forwarded to me but I assumed it just went out to former DA families. Would make sense for DPL to be the 3rd team but haven't seen anything confirming that

Another thread is saying FC Alliance to SCCL, so it may be that the travel will increase either way goalkeeper dad. Good luck.

they will need to add another 2 clubs then to get a reasonable 12 games.
A bit disappointing really. It's nice to play your rivals twice. But home-and-away was an impediment to the league growth.

Was going to tryout for DPL but her coach who helped us get on SCCL last year asked her to play for him at SCCL this year. She got the chance to go to the DA goalie training once per week. We were told she is DPL capable and would have gotten a long look if she tried

Does anyone here think Tophat might have trouble filling all these travel teams given the current situation in the world with COVID-19? I'm sure people won't have much of an issue with regional travel, such as anywhere it is feasible to drive. However, taking multiple trips all over the country by plane in the next few months seems like a big ask from a club at the moment.
Just curious.

If multiple trips via plane are required it would be very difficult to fill teams, especially 2 per age group

According to what I see it looks like it maybe the same as ECNL looks like 3 trips to Florida and 1 to NC for league games. Look like the NC trip will be for 1 game and their would be 1 game weekend down by Panama Beach.

However, we can all speculate. Who knows when and if there will be tryouts, but it will be a zoo that's for sure. I was hopeing they were in just to watch the sidelines when they play the Atl based teams. Unfortunately I will need to find popcorn for some other games. Maybe they will all be in Tourney's together now that the DA is gone and teams can play in tourneys.

Look like the NC trip will be for 1 game and their would be 1 game weekend down by Panama Beach. Not sure how you can say the travel will be similar when ECNL has 5 Georgia teams and an Alabama team. A home and away with each of those will be 9 metro Atl games and 1 in AL about 2 hours away. Then home and away with the FL teams, so 6 in FL (3 trips) and 6 home. That's 16 games close to home and 6 in Florida. Additionally, 1 of the ECNL fixtures is in Jacksonville, so only about 5 hour drive. With only 1 other local team (TH other team), if TH plays the same number of games (22), GAL would probably have to do almost double the travel.

Gotcha. So travel percentage will be significantly higher, but the overall travel, not much. About how many games will they likely play? As I mentioned I think ECNL will play around 22 which is a reasonable number for a full year. The GAL map on another thread showed 8 teams in SE. A home and away with each is only 14. For full year that seems a bit light. Probably okay for HS age if they are allowed to play HS, but for U13 and U14 that seems like too few. Has that question been answered somewhere? Will GAL players be allowed to play HS.

Fractured pyramid that puts profit ahead of competition... sucks for the players.
Clubs who won’t schedule academy games against other clubs because the “adults” are pissed... sucks for the players.
At some point, does anyone think good leadership will steer soccer to a useful direction? Because I don’t see it.

This is what USSF and ECNL should have pushed for the first time. Now with USSF out of the picture we should look to ECNL to do this. I dont blame clubs that can not get into ECNL creating a platform for their players. Hopefully a pyramid based on Pro / Rel at the club level can be created.

If ECNL play 22 games plus tournaments for the older girls that will be a lot of games in a 4;month time frame. GAL will be 14 games plus tournaments. Allow for some free weekends. Interested in seeing what ECNL will do
