Ok, who is sending their rising 9th-12 grader to ID camps this summer and which ones are actually open? Interesting to see some colleges have already cancelled but looks like UGA is still open for registration?

I wonder if things open up and there isn't a resurgence of the virus, do all the things that were cancelled stay cancelled, or will there be a glut of "We're actually open?" And I don't mean regional/national tournaments. I mean camps and the like.

My daughter normally attends the UNC camp and I haven't heard a peek from them. With the inconsistency of states opening up ... I'm sure they are waiting to see if summer camps will even be possible.

Most colleges have cancelled in person summer classes and only online offered. Orientation sessions are all online as well, I can't see them opening the dorms for soccer camp, when they are not even sure if they will be in session come the fall semester.

Very true, however, there are many ID camps that are one day only or do not provide lodging and the player stays in a hotel. My child has done camps like this at a few close by big universities and at a far away university.

Tony E just sent out an email that he is still hosting the annual Mercer camp in early July.

If you do decide to sign up for a camp on a college campus check the fine print! Ask what the refund/cancellation policy is beforehand. We all want to be on the fields and back to some normalcy come July but a lot of colleges have already decided to close off all access to non essentials, especially the public ones. Some actually are putting plans together to not even open campuses until after Labor Day as well as delay the beginning of the college football season. So if old loud mouth in Athens can’t even get his players out of jail and back on the practice fields and weight rooms until Aug/Sept there’s no way they’ll let a soccer coach hold even a one day camp in July.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions and get things in writing. Same would go for nearly all camps expected this summer.
