You mean that other local club that was spawned from AFU?? In regards to Rec though I did hear from Ga Soccer that numbers for all Rec leagues were down last year. Just another tread as we continue to lose young players due to the age mandate. It’s been a steady 10% decrease every year. Do rec leagues need to follow the birth year mandate? Rec leagues through Ga Soccer and USYS have to. They follow the same rules of the game as Select players.

Spawned from? Dunno who that would be. Starts with an A, ends with a In and has their main presence in Sugar Hill

Looks like a North Carolina league Carolina Champions League championsleaguenc.com/about-us/So we have Southeastern Club Champions League (USCS) GA/TN/AL Club Champions League(USYS) GA Carolina Champions League(USCS) NC The CCL in Ga is in partnership with the CCL in Virginia, which was established in 1997 by the looks of the website. Which would make them “the original” CCL, if I’m not mistaken. And I agree with the rhetoric mainly posted in this thread. There seems to be far too many leagues and abbreviations floating around. I put the blame firmly at US Soccer’s door for not working hard enough on aligning the youth game. Then I throw some blame at the “mega-clubs” and their unsavory way of trying to make an extra $. Lastly, I would add some blame at the feet of the parents who blindly follow the narrative that to get their kid the best chances and opportunities, you have to follow a set of letters to have as a badge on your kids arm. Which is nonsense. Find a good coach who has your kids interests in mind (not scores on the scoreboard or positions on the table) but a coach who actually takes some time to develop your child! They are out there and most of them you won’t see doing the all-singing, all-dancing act to try and get everyone to come and join his/her team. The good coaches work in silence and let their hard work do all the talking, regardless of which 3 or 4 letters appear before or after their team name.

I don't think SCCL was formed primarily to make $$$, that was a bonus. It was primarily formed to correct the problems with USYS SRPL/R3PL and make things logistically better for the participating clubs. The USYS NL conferences were started/created almost as a response to SCCL and other areas similar withdrawl from USYS leagues. If you believe ultimatedad it was because those clubs weren't doing well in R3PL, but the fact is that the Big 5 had about 75% of the R3PL spots prior to withdrawl of their 2nd teams from USYS.
