Will traveling 2-3 hrs to play CASA be as worthwhile? I was also thinking that all CASA away games are now 2-3 hours away. Havent heard of any of their teams being good enough for that time commitment for every away game? Why not just play in what ever local league the SC teams will play in? The other SC league is mainly Columbia, Charleston and coastal teams... I’ll let you do the math on that travel. Where is CESA playing now?

The teams at the SCCL/SCCL-P level? The top team at CESA is ECNL. The second team at CESA moved from SCCL to ECRL. They did not have a team playing SCCL-P this year, that was Carolina FC.

Wow, they have quite a dropoff after ECNL then... their SCCL teams were not that strong. That make me wonder how ECRL will be for them... and how SCCL compares to ECRL. Pretty favorable is my guess.

Other than Inter and LSA...on the girls side who will be left in NL? Seriously, what will GA Soccer look like next year? One division per age group? Impact had several teams in the NL-Piedmont... I asked this before, do they still keep their spots or do they give it up to play CCL? As far as I understand it, the CCL is sanctioned under USYS and so doesn’t have to sacrifice anything in terms of National League. And actually, If you read into the CCL out of Virginia, whom are the partner of CCL GA, they have direct pathways to NL and USYS National Championship berths.

So the teams that are NL -Piedmont will only play in Nl- Piedmont? And if you are not in NL-Piedmont, then you play CCL? With only 5 teams in CCL GA, how do they earn an NL-Piedmont invite?

Georgia Soccer will still hold the power of who goes to NL Piedmont, so it will be interesting how they perceive CCL Georgia which is still taking money from their pockets.

This feels like one of those "if a tree falls in a forest and no one is there to see it, did it make a sound..." type of situations. Do the vast majority of soccer parents, kids, and teams care about GA Soccer and their control of NL Piedmont at this point? I would say the majority do not.

And that is short sighted byblocal parents because nationally and with college coaches the USYS National League is recognized. Remember SCCL is a newer and only regional event. A few local college coaches know of SCCL but all know of the national league. Outside of the Georgia footprint no college coaches know SCCL, for example if looking to play soccer in Virginia, Florida, California ...
In regards to access to national league, access goes to: 1.Returning national league teams who finished in top half of bracket. 2. State cup champion 3. Winner of GPL (Georgia premier league)
Georgia has generally been given 4 teams per age group although I could see that shrink over time. So, the possibility of a team making NL from CCL would be if Georgia soccer allows the CCL bracket winner to fill any leftover spots after the GPL winner. As long as Georgia soccer is around, which many can argue how many years they have left, this will be the order for entry.

As a parent who had a player in rpl, then piedmont and now ECNL I would definitely recommend NL if your kid loses their ecnl spot this year. I would definitely do NL over SCCl

SCCL has National Cup. The 03 UFA Norcross Girls won the national title and while I don't recall who all they played, I do remember they beat Hawaii, so there is a national element. And that UFA Norcross SCCL team beat ECNL teams too. The last I remember they were something like 59-1 over a two year span--but I may be a little off on my numbers.
Give it a couple years. There won't be any teams from Ga in the NL Piedmont region except very small clubs. The rest are in SCCL.

The US Club Soccer National Cup has nothing to do with SCCL, except that the same sanctioning body sanctions both competitions. Any team that has US Club Soccer passcards can enter. The cup is split into two levels: the Super Group and the Premier Group. They were in Premier Group. That UFA team should be crazy proud of their accomplishment.
