Neil McNab who has been running and founded Chiefs FC and also took over running Ga Rush last fall has combined his clubs under the name Rush Union Soccer Club. Outside of a name and uniform change not much changing for the Chiefs side as they will align themselves with Rush-Milton and the whole Rush National Soccer program. Rush Milton will still be based out of the Stars Complex while Rush Dekalb will be out of Pleasantdale Park and their new turf complex at Brook Run Park in Dunwoody. www.rushunionsoccer.org/Last little fun bit is as one club they will be joining SCCL at club level like Ambush, Santos and FC Alliance this coming year. Better get your popcorn ready because tryouts on the Northside just got very interesting if you aren’t guaranteed an ECNL spot.

Both, top club level with second and third teams in the Premier 1-4 leagues.

Seriously Maxx. Does someone at SCCL owe you money??? Lol You’re constantly trashing the league. I’m curious if you actually watched any SCCL games last year? I thought our league was competitive and far from Athena A. But you probably have a lot more insight than I do. And to your point, I do believe that some of the additional teams will weaken SCCL 1.

Does this new Rush Union have enough depth to provide teams to both NL AND SCCL club/top tier? (Even assuming the NL teams are only here and there).

Rush and Chiefs were added to SCCL-p during the last announcement. No indication (yet) they've been added to top flight. I don't know what the membership looks like for both of these clubs but I'm assuming it was on the smaller side... good on them for boosting their membership and access. (Seems like there's some smaller clubs around Chiefs that would have benefited from this access and had great geographical connections. Last, they should rethink the R|U IN? tag... Ruin? Hope that's not foretelling... ;-)

I know of another couple of SCCL teams that have done the same with ECNL teams and NPL teams. Unfortunately, if the Rush thing IS true, those teams achievements will be tarnished a bit with these weaker small clubs joining the top division of SCCL. It will also bring greater disparity from the top to the bottom of the league. Sorry to those at the smaller clubs, I'm not trying to be an a-hole, I just have a feeling most teams are going to struggle just to make it to the mid-tier of the league in SCCL-C. Maybe they are adding these teams now, becuase next year they will introduce ECRL and provide a place for those teams that are competitive with ECNL and the like??

Will have to see how it goes over the year. Keeping in mind that relegation is an option for clubs who overall finish at the bottom of the league. It'll just be interesting if its BUSA again or one of the original 5 Georgia clubs.

So if BUSA, finishes last in that top Champions league theyll still be there the following season.

Can Ga Rush or Chiefs do that? Or can Rush Union?

Yes that is my question. And on top of that, can they do so in both NL AND SCCL top tier? Maybe JumpJumpKeep can shed some light on that...?

To my understanding yes this new club will be able to field multiple teams in all age groups for SCCL.
I do not believe they will be putting any teams back into NL though.

It doesn't look like Rush nor Chiefs have an 05 girls team, although both have an 06, so one maybe will have to play in 05 bracket?

Or they’ll both be created out of new teams like clubs did last year with SCCL Premier Teams. Lot of former Rush and Chiefs players at Nth-Milton, UFA Forsyth & Norcross, Impact, Concorde, Brookhaven, and Inter Atlanta that left to see if the grass was greener. Plus since SCCL doesn't have any rules about club passing other then being age appropriate & registered that’s a lot of game time potential for players.

McNab is on the board of Georgia Soccer. Will he remove himself from that position? It seems awkward to remain if he's pulling teams out of Georgia Soccer. To be fair, I do not know the affiliations of other board members so there may be others in the same situation.

Take two small clubs and merge their top players and you may see something surprising.

Take two small clubs and merge their top players and you may see ... a mid-sized club level?? not sure a club-wide “A” team can be formed with all the top players... too many miles between locations, unless they don’t practice together. Why would a family suddenly be inclined to drive that far because of a new logo on the uniform?
