Boom! They have decided to show the other clubs how to make members happy. Who’s taken charge at Rush? I like their style!

Are clubs really not giving refunds for the spring? Are clubs really not giving payment options?
Roswell proactively gave refunds for the spring and have always had flexible payment options without any drama. Are these practices really an exception?

Not at Tophat. We got some videos, and Zoom calls.
My kid was in a trap year, so it’s not as big a deal as if it happened in the Fall. I wonder what they’ll do for Fall 2020...

No refunds for spring for us either though UFA has planned a summer "camp" for free and a 4 week summer session. Not sure what that will entail. They offered refunds for summer SCCL which won't happen obviously.
They explained on the web page that expenses like field rentals are paid ahead to the county. They can't get that money back from the county.

Yet, you have to hand it to them; Rush Union is putting it in writing up front.

Ambush gave something back if they were playing in the spring, around $200 towards this year (Although they did add in that it can be donated back to the club if you so chose).

It’s not it really about spring refunds or so called flexible payments( most clubs make you give auto draft credit card info and will continue to charge you regardless) it’s about signing up for the season with virtually no risk.
Remember it the businesses that should be shouldering all risk not the consumer. They need our business!

The new Rush Union director is Neil McNab (from Chiefs FC). His professionalism & communication is the best I’ve seen from any club (my kids have played at 4 different clubs). As soon as he took over in the Fall he had multiple parent mtgs about the direction of the club & did a full presentation on his plan to make improvements. That plan also included a coaches training program for on the field & off. It wasn’t just smoke & mirrors either as I’ve witnessed firsthand that plan being implemented by my daughters coach exactly as he said it would. He understands that the parents are the customer and welcomes all levels of engagement with them. He is definitely the right guy to help the club grow & be what it should be.

What am I missing? Its good they sent or have this message up. Looks like they're the first ones to have the deposit concept.
AFU has been sending out info regarding tryouts for the past week (normal days as scheduled currently). They also offered a 10% refund for U14 and below for 2019-2020, given that 80% of the year was complete (I personally waived mine, our coach has been engaged the past couple months via Zoom and emails/training regimens). Since SCCL summer was cancelled they are expecting to have some summer training/scrimmages.

Last season is water under the bridge

Are clubs really not giving refunds for the spring? Are clubs really not giving payment options? Roswell proactively gave refunds for the spring and have always had flexible payment options without any drama. Are these practices really an exception? Yes, clubs really are not refunding a single penny for the Spring. And not only that but they want 60% of their money paid to them by August when they know there may not be a season. I personally will not be paying but a small deposit until we know if there is going to be a season. It is harder to fight for a refund once they have your money than it is to pay later.

I'm not sure which club you are at, but you cannot bundle all clubs together when stating they aren't giving refunds. I know of at least 2 clubs that offered refunds, or a credit towards the 2020-2021 season. I haven't seen details about payment for the upcoming season, but if our club is the same as last year, we can choose a plan which has us pay about 25% between now & August.

Um this new season SSA is offering refunds for 2020-21 season. So don't lump them in. They are asking for $150 to hold spot which is fully refundable if we do not play in the fall. They also said that 8/1 is the first payment date for the season, but if we aren't playing by then the due date will be delayed till start of play. Also they have said they will give a pro-rated refund for the Fall based on how many weeks did not get played if the season has to end early etc....
As far as spring refund goes for select/academy. They have not decided yet, but they hope to do training and possibly even games in late June or July to fulfill what is left of the spring season. If that can not happen they will give a credit toward fees for the 2020-21 season. I would assume it won't be more than 10% like GSA offered, but at least it is something.

CF is essentially the same, but think the registration fee is $175.

GSA payment plan definitely looks different this year-- first payment is June and all payments on the plan completed by November! (my player is boys U15 ECNL). Last year we were able to spread payments out more and first one wasn't until August.

AFU had 2-3 payment plans last year. For roughly 1800 in fees and tournaments (AFU wrapped 4 tournaments in with tuition), there were 4- or 6-payment plans (6 for U14 and under), evenly divided between the payments. First one in June with signing, then a few in the fall and a couple in the spring. U15 and up just the fall of course.
