So everyone is going to do small-scale, small-group position tryouts rather than the large typical kerfuffle? All I know, is the BIG 5 clubs made a collective decision not to proceed. That's all I have for now. |

Tryouts have been ongoing for the last few weeks. Just not doing formal tryouts this year. Top teams have been full for the last week or so and lower level teams can be sorted out later. Just need commitments at this point.

This Spring has landed the soccer world in an unprecedented situation due to the pandemic. The safety of our players remains our top priority. While every player, coach and club is ready to be back on the fields, the reality is that we must continue to adhere to the guidelines of our local government and health officials. As such, for the time being, there are severe restrictions on how players can come and train at the fields. Due to these limitations, tryouts would not be an effective process to assess players and place them on teams. In collaboration Ambush, AFU, Concorde, Georgia Express, GSA, LSA, NTH, Steamers FC, SSA, TYSA and UFA, have all made the difficult decision to cancel in-person, formal tryouts.
While tryouts may not be taking place in the traditional manner, teams will still be formed at this time for the 2020-21 Soccer Year.

Our teams Zoom Tryouts....er I mean "Zoom Training" numbers doubled tonight. Word is out.

Just need commitments at this point. Tryouts are not solely about the top teams at each club. Some do rely on the usual tryout dates. And if those weeks truly don’t mean anything, then why do clubs hold regular tryouts at all every year? For show? Just need commitments...or rather money...at this point. |

Yeah, if tryouts are that easy to cancel, it'll be the same for the season. I will be holding out from plugging my credit card into the registration site. If they don't like it my kids will just be free agents in the fall.

The big 5 are more like a cartel than anything. My kids will be free agents as well without any indication of a cancellation policy. And by the way you need to order your $600+ uniform kit right away in order to have it arrive by the time we still can’t play in the fall

And what age and level do they currently play at?? What part of town are you in?? Just asking for a coaching friend who’s at a club with a refund/later signup date. |
