From UFA
This Spring has landed the soccer world in an unprecedented situation due to the pandemic. The safety of our players remains our top priority. While every player, coach and club is ready to be back on the fields, the reality is that we must continue to adhere to the guidelines of our local government and health officials. As such, for the time being, there are severe restrictions on how players can come and train at the fields. Due to these limitations, tryouts would not be an effective process to assess players and place them on teams. In collaboration with GSA, Concorde, NTH, UFA, Steamers FC, AFU, SSA, Ambush, LSA, Georgia Express and TYSA, the difficult decision has been made to cancel in-person, formal tryouts.

While tryouts may not be taking place in the traditional manner, teams will still be formed at this time for the 2020-21 Soccer Year. In light of these developments, the process and schedule will be adjusted.
This email serves as an invitation for our current UFA players to continue to play at UFA for the 2020-21 year. The player will receive an email to accept their spot on the team for 2020-21.
To properly register for the 2020-2021 year:
1. Register for tryouts (if not already done so). CLICK HERE TO REGISTER FOR:
- ECNL - FORSYTH - NORCROSS - MOUNTAINS - SOUTH GEORGIA - LAWRENCEVILLE - METRO ATLANTA
2. Expect an email invitation to register for a specific team 3. Accept your invitation 4. You will receive information addressing the uniform order
*This season is a new uniform year. In order for our supplier to provide our uniforms on time for the Fall season we have to stay on our scheduled timeline. For this reason, we are strongly encouraging you to register now.
FAQ’s
Will my player be able to make a higher level team? Yes, all players will be assessed for placement within their age group for U9-12 during the July Camp. For u13 and up, assessments will be available based on their current coach’s recommendation.
If I register early am I guaranteed a roster spot? Yes, all returning players will be placed. We cannot guarantee the level they will be placed at but if you register now we will place you on a team for the Fall season.
If I register late will I be penalized? While there is no penalty, a team may fill up. In addition, it may impact the delivery time of your uniform.
If I am not currently a part of UFA, can I be assessed for a team? Yes. Please register for tryouts and email Lori Garcia at lori@unitedfa.org.
Once again, thank you for your continued support and patience. This was not an easy decision to make, but the safety of our players will always be our top priority.
Sincerely,
United Futbol Academy Leadership Team

What a sh!t show this will be for all bubble players No kidding. Sounds like those players need to be set up assessments ASAP with other clubs. They may find a better fit but gotta do it before the end of May deadlines that are set by their current clubs...

The "assessment" were already taking place. The teams are pretty much set by now so if your kid hadn't already been offered a spot or received a call from another club, then you probably will stay put.

So again, why do the clubs even bother with tryouts? Pretending kids have a chance at a different team when they really don’t? (And I understand the one dream kid that could show up... but as you all have said, they just need to contact the club directly and ask for their own tryout on the side) Perhaps this will be one of the permanent changes going forward. At least it will permanently free up the first week in June to go ahead and go on vacation.

My daughter plays at UFA, and will be a rising junior in the fall. She has been working her butt off to try to jump up a level. On top of that, there are some players on her team that might not even come back to play soccer, and another that is out with an injury.
She is naturally worried that there is going to be a drop off in both quality and commitment from other players. She has received some interest from smaller colleges already and wants to make sure she gets as much exposure as possible.

Contact coaches directly and NOW. Both at UFA and whatever other clubs you're interested in. Unfortunately, sometimes you have to change clubs to get a serious new look.

What level was she playing in? Athena A I bet there’s spot at Rush Union on one of their U19 SCCL or SCCL Premier 1 teams! Should shoot them an email.

NTH Milton is nearby and will have an 02/03 SCCL P-1 team. They will train at King's Ridge Christian School. Check website for coach information and email directly. That location will have 11 2002-08 girl's teams this Fall.

They are having tryouts & that team went undefeated in NL Piedmont last 2 yrs, won state cup, won SE regional & went to Nationals. Also beat 2 ECNL teams (AFU & GSA) in ‘18 pre-season tourney. They will be in SCCL top flight this fall & will likely need a few girls to fill out roster.
