May 22, 2020 - The events of the past few months have been unlike anything we have experienced before, and Georgia Soccer appreciates your patience as we work through this difficult time. This pandemic has caused the disruption of virtually every aspect of our daily lives, including the organized soccer activities we all love so much. During this difficult time, Georgia Soccer’s priority is, and will continue to be the well-being of all players, staff, parents and loved ones.
As our communities reopen, state and local guidelines have and will continue to change. It is the desire of Georgia Soccer to assist our membership in efforts to keep our families safe and healthy. First and foremost, please continue to abide by state, local, and public heath guidelines. For specific guidelines please refer to the CDC Decision Tree and Considerations for Youth Sports.
To further assist in protecting our membership, we are asking all clubs and leagues to acknowledge they have read and will comply with all published orders and guidelines in effect. Georgia Soccer will publish on its website a list of all affiliates who return a signed acknowledgment of intent to comply with these orders and guidelines. These orders and guidelines should be strictly followed for all sanctioned soccer activities. The link to the acknowledgment form is listed on the right and will be sent separately in an email. Please complete and submit it to Georgia Soccer at your earliest opportunity.
If a member club or league needs additional assistance with resources to help implement these guidelines, please contact Kim Bowen at (678) 993-2107 or via email at covidhelp@georgiasoccer.org.
Georgia Soccer is currently working on a database of COVID-19-related resources and suppliers (right) that will be able to assist our members. We welcome all suggestions from our membership as to potential resource suppliers.
As your association, Georgia Soccer understands the diverse emotions and levels of risk tolerance regarding COVID-19. It is the opinion of Georgia Soccer that in the interest of health and safety, the resources from the CDC offer the best guidance.
Please continue to stay healthy and safe.
