I signed my daughter up for The U summer ID camp scheduled for July 18-19. They said if they cancel ... they won't charge me but if it proceeds ... they'll charge my card 2 weeks before camp. It's a commuter camp.
Any others taking their player to any ID camps this summer?
She's a rising 9th grader and I want to start to get her seen.

I also have a rising 9th grader (boy) and have no idea that I need to be doing this already?

We have had our 9th going into 10th grader go to several of them with her older sister. We started the older one out doing it in 10th grade. The big thing we see/saw from it is they get more comfortable with the process so when it matters more between 10th and 11th grade they arent so worried about I am at a tryout/ID camp and just focus on playing. I know with our older daughter it took her 5 or 6 camps before it became no big deal.

It'll be good to start a free recruiting profile with a website like NCSA and start recording his games this season.

I agree there are some that are more money makers but what we found is if you go to the 1 day or 2 day camps typically the level of play is great (we didnt always find the longer camps to be that way) and for the girls depending on the school they get to play/work with some of the college girls. I know my older daughter went to one at GCSU and the campers took on the college team 11 v 11. At the time my daughter was in 10th grade and was playing DA, but she realized pretty quick that her speed of play needed to step up.

Who knows if colleges will even have them this summer. But at least have your kid start making a list of schools he is interested in. Time flies very quickly.
