So is Roswell's 05 NL team staying NL or going SCCL-C? Or both? I've heard both

Their website seems to say they are going full SCCL from top to bottom.

They have 2 05 Girls teams. This year, one will be SCCL Champions (the former NL team) and 1 will be SCCL Premier (not sure which level - think they were Athena B last year)

That's crazy. Based on some people on this forum the NL league is the best since slice bread. Why would Roswell leave NPL to go to a horrible league like SCCl? Crazy

Hearing some of the SCCL-C clubs are going to keep their NL teams in NL and try to do both leagues. Had a lot of parent blow back with going SCCL only.

Thanks for clearing that up. I saw the announcemnt they moved over to SCCL, but then saw their teams listed on their webpage and it showed them still in NL. I guess the peeps over their need to update their site? Man, that 05 girl's team is going to be a beast to deal with!! Been[playing basically that same team since U10 I assume. Well coached team. Great movement off the ball. A team like that who sticks together shows what can happen when boys / girls get a great bond together. If memory serves me correctly, when we were in NL with AFU, they didn't lose a game. Maybe 1 at the most? We managed to tie them but we kinda had a break at the end of that game. We also missed a PK so it probably evened out. But even as an opposing parent I can admit Roswell, Alex Wright's physical LSA team, and NC Fusion (they did something I don't see often-they ran a 3-5-2 and beat us 2-0 but it easily could have been 6-0) were the best teams in that NL that year. Sometimes its hard as a competitor to admit when teams are just simply better than you:)

That's crazy. Based on some people on this forum the NL league is the best since slice bread. Why would Roswell leave NPL to go to a horrible league like SCCl? Crazy NL was better but the rumor is NC getting weaker and all good teams going to US Club, leaving very little for GA teams to compete against. I can not confirm it but if true we can't blame Roswell or Ambush going to the sure thing competition wise and closer to home (very important to them). Their one disadvantage will be that they'll be playing everyone else's 2nd or 3rd teams in SCCL, and they're at the ceiling with their own club. If their best players do well those parents can naturally get very curious for the next level of play ... then what? It still happens, people will look to ECNL always but, this literally showcases their best players to the biggest club recruiters in the state on a weekly basis.

This was club decision at Roswell so they can be competitive in year one of SCCL. The individual teams at Roswell with NL are heartbroken and wanted to keep NL but lost out on a vote to remain.

Most Roswell's top teams cannot keep up with any top team from a big club, except couple teams and this is one of them. The 05 group has done a great job keeping their core together and improved playing in NL while barely losing any players compared to other non ECNL clubs. Will be interesting to see how this team evolves in SCCL next year.

The 06 NL team also beat 3 SCCL teams last year, including the Concorde SCCL team that eventually won the division, so they should do well also.

Agree. 06 team will be challenged but winning it is within reach. The 05 team with current roster can win it without much of a challenge. If I'm right, a Regional event next summer would be nice.

Tophat is the only club where their 4th team is being played in SCCL-CLUB... it'll be a dog fight this fall if we have a season.

The 2005 boys team is a nice team. Well coached. Two very strong strikers if my memory serves me well.

If they remain THAT GOOD, they should pass through SCCL and get a direct birth in US Club national cup finals. Getting into the national title competition should help heal that wounded pride...

So what you are saying is, if Roswell 05 finishes at the top of SCCL this season, it will prove NL is vastly superior to SCCL since Roswell only went 1-3-3 in NL. This will be fun to see where Roswell 05 finishes at end of season

But it good to know no matter what you are there to fight for your league

I'm definitely not saying that, just that they were the best in Piedmont behind Wake. The bottom half(6 teams) of Piedmont lost a lot to the top half, but 3 of the top 5 were GA teams. People can draw their own conclusions until the fall plays out as to whether the top half of SCCL hangs around with them.

It is what it is. A place for the big clubs to warehouse their lower teams so as not having to pay Ga Soccer.

It is no longer where the big clubs hide their 2nd and 3rd teams so they don't lose to small clubs top teams (usually you implied they got crushed)? Now it is about the money? Sigh

To the person who said the 05 girls will win it with ease, I ask you this: how do you know with certainty?
Do you know anything about TH, CF, GSA and UFA , the top 4 from last year ? Do you know what that added/lost?
the UFA team who finished 4th and brought over a chunk of the corner AFU NL team , tied Roswell when they were at AFU in NL.
I said early on in the post that Roswell would be a beast this fall at05 girls. But for you to say “easily “ or whatever it is , man , you have a reality train that’s going to hit you face on this fall.
Again, I’m the guy who stated early on that Roswell may very well win it. But just from a UFA parent , I’ll state we added a DA player who wanted to come back to her old coach ,an ECNL player who came back to play with friends , and two kids who are as fast as anyone I’ve seen in SCCL or NL.
We shall see in the fall .

Good players on the Roswell team will leave for higher level soccer. Roswell will finish mid pack. Just a prediction.
