Hmm interesting...did they give any $$ back? Just wondering cause I thought all clubs were doing that since no refunds were given Nope, just a couple of credits for summer training/camps or fall fees. Both clubs were very active through the Spring though so we weren’t expecting anything back. Thats great! So are you just taking summer off? My kids never took time off, especially my daughter, she has been training around 3x week.

Nope our two clubs are doing some optional stuff. The oldest has her typical summer solo training from the team but no team training dates. The other two youngers have the option to pay for summer camps/training but nothing team oriented or “free”. Hmm interesting...did they give any $$ back? Just wondering cause I thought all clubs were doing that since no refunds were given We had 2 Zoom sessions through the spring after the lock down began. We also were given a 10% refund on fees from last year. Now we are training in June with the new team for 2020-2021. I guess we are lucky.

Honestly we weren’t sure, but in the last 15 mins all three asked about summer camps so now I gotta look into that. Anyone know of a decent summer camp still going on this year? Not club affiliated though.

Appreciate it though!

Just wanted to avoid the club politics.

I haven't heard of anything non club. Theres 3v3 and 5v5 tournaments popping up here and there -- run by kids. I think it might be easier to call up some parents and set something up yourself if you're trying to avoid clubs

I think it might be easier to call up some parents and set something up yourself if you're trying to avoid clubs We have done some of this during this hiatus. We have found private property fields etc... and gotten 10 or so kids out there scrimmaging and doing some small sided games that the clubs won't allow right now. It was great because people had the choice of allowing their kids to participate or not, some were comfortable doing it and some were not. It is the way it should have always been with the clubs and the state as well. No government agency showed up and ran us all off either, so it was all good. No doubt we had been in an another state we probably would have been arrested or something.

These are the those free summer sessions from Ufa right? Without Super Y this is a rare off summer for us. Its an extension of Spring. I thought all clubs were doing something? NTH is not doing anything nor giving any money back. Each club has decided to do something different and some decided not to do anything.

Good for UFA. Think that goes a long way and honestly have heard a ton of great things on this week's sessions (my middle son plays there but could not attend due to being at his grandparents house this week). I know it is not the spring but the effort put into to get these sessions up and running was highly appreciated on my part.

Kids couldn't wait to get back out there. Its a good thing for them to start practicing again.
No one is being forced to go

Just got word we are starting up practices for one of mine. Which is great until the coach said it was at 8:00am.
Not sure who’s more pissed, me or the 12 year old.

No reason for them to still be sleeping at 8am. It'll also be cooler out.

When we played Super Y last summer we had some 8am practices. Those were mainly at the beginning of the summer and eventually became evening sessions, but we did have some first thing in the morning.

No reason for them to still be sleeping at 8am. It'll also be cooler out. There’s a lot of reasons to not be up at 8:00am, let alone at a field 30 mins away. Hell Im not even awake at 8:00am, that’s just too early.

No reason for them to still be sleeping at 8am. It'll also be cooler out. This is true but parents have jobs. It isn't always possible to do this especially last minute. One of mine had 230-345 this week. Happy to have her get going with her team but we were lucky we could swing it on such short notice.

Yeah I get that they’re trying to keep the players cooler but it’s not that hot yet, Next weeks highs are looking like upper 70s / low 80s.

Add in we have two players that live an hour north of Atlanta too, I doubt we will see them this unless this becomes the norm.

I agree, no need to schedule that early this week...at least for weather purposes. Is there a chance there is limited field space and the club needs to use morning sessions to be able to schedule everyone? If so, your team just drew the shortest straw. Hopefully for you this is short term and sessions start being scheduled in the evening.

Our team is divided into two halves, each practicing for 60 minutes with a 30 minute gap, presumably to limit interaction. So our team takes 3 hours now... multiply by multiple teams our age, multiply by many ages groups, multiply by boys and girls. And if fewer teams practicing at once, it’ll simply take up a good part of the day for all teams to train.
