www.atlutd.com/post/2020/06/20/second-atlanta-united-player-tests-positive-covid-19Atlanta United today confirmed a second positive result for a First Team player following mandatory club testing on Friday. No additional positive results for players or staff were received Friday. The club announced its first positive result for a player on Thursday. The second player was asymptomatic and has been in isolation since Wednesday, in adherence with MLS health and safety protocols which require at least two positive tests to ensure that the first result was not a false positive. The team conducted non-contact, individual training sessions on Friday and Saturday, and will continue non-contact training on Monday. Mandatory COVID-19 testing will take place again Monday morning. If negative test results for all players and staff are received, the team will resume full team training on Tuesday. Since Atlanta United began individual player workouts on May 6, the club has followed MLS health and safety guidelines, including proper physical distancing and sanitization during individual workouts, small group training sessions and full group training sessions. The club will continue to work in close consultation with the CDC, local health authorities and Major League Soccer regarding testing and training guidelines. Atlanta United president Darren Eales will be available to speak to media via video conference on Monday, June 22 at 11am. Invitation details for the call will be sent Monday morning.

That’s definitely not good. Have any other MLS team players tested positive?

That’s definitely not good. Have any other MLS team players tested positive? One from Inter Miami and In addition to the two Eastern Conference clubs, the other MLS clubs recently announcing positive tests include FC Dallas (June 3) and the Philadelphia Union (April 1), with Kacper Przybylko revealing he was the Union player to contract COVID-19. NYCFC announced on March 19 that a member of the club's sporting department tested positive. www.mlssoccer.com/post/2020/06/18/atlanta-united-player-tests-positive-covid-19

That’s definitely not good. Have any other MLS team players tested positive? Not really a surprise though. The European clubs that returned to training and matches had some positive tests too.

Young, healthy, asymptomatic... assuming they remain asymptomatic or eventually have only mild symptoms, hopefully professional and youth sports can continue considering the low-risk participants.

Covid is not going away. The flu comes back every year. The flu vaccine is a guess every year and is about 40% effective. Kids are a low risk. Went to a big soccer event last weekend without hesitation as a spectator. Games were 11 v 11 with kids coming from all over the southeast. Temps were taken but other than that nothing else.
