The reality is most athletic departments and school budgets are poorly run. There is no way one year of missing revenue should cause them to axe programs. Are they not eligible for PPP loans? Very troubling...

Stanford has a $27.7 Billion endowment. I think it's safe to say that if they really wanted to keep those sports around, they could find a way. Never forget that college sports are profit first, name recognition second, and player welfare/importance much further down the list.

The reality is most athletic departments and school budgets are poorly run. There is no way one year of missing revenue should cause them to axe programs. Are they not eligible for PPP loans? Very troubling... I would like to take back what I said. It turns out that Stanford had 36 varsity sports which is twice the national average and had been talking about reducing the number of varsity sports for a while now...

2 large HBCU conferences cancelled their fall sports: SIAC and CIAA, which includes North Carolina AT, Morehouse, Albany State, Savannah State. These are big schools that play Divison 2 and impacts all other schools.
