Just wait until SEC/ACC announce football changes...all hell is gonna break loose. I expect major cuts to non-revenue sports.

Smaller schools are in trouble - they pay for their football season by getting big pay days against the big boys - otherwise their programs can’t exist

I think our governor made a true statement when he said college football will be a "tall task" if the cases keep going up so wear a mask.
Unfortunately the "Wear a mask" campaign came a bit too late. I just hope people will follow his advice now so we can get our kids back to school and sports competitions. Hopefully we can make things work for our kids

Best reason I've read on why conference only games makes sense -- flexibility:
""By limiting competition to other Big Ten institutions, the Conference will have the greatest flexibility to adjust its own operations throughout the season and make quick decisions in real-time based on the most current evolving medical advice and the fluid nature of the pandemic."

Today, the Atlantic 10 Presidents Council and Athletics Directors announced a conference-wide decision to postpone our fall sport competition (including both championship and non-championship seasons). This decision affects fall competition for all of our programs, including our non-A-10 programs. The Atlantic 10 COVID-19 Medical Advisory Committee will continue to advise the Council and Athletic Directors throughout the year. Decisions on winter and spring sports will be made at a later date.

Sad. They're cutting sports programs for student athletes left and right, yet, the multimillion dollar salaries of football coaches for example remain untouched. How did we get here and what am I missing? Many of those kids would love to play scholarship or no scholarship to represent their school and have a healthy lifestyle, and I'm sorry but COVID-19 alone does not begin to explain this whole trend in college sports. The only reasons I can explain why this is happening, is poor financial management practices, bad rules, and pure greed.

While some small schools (and a few large ones) are seriously hurting, others are doing just fine.
