This was a really good forum for a little while. People respectfully talking about youth soccer without much of the vitriol that characterized the old forum and blessedly no politics.
That has now changed to the point where we can send this forum the way of the old one.
Most of the soccer talk now comes from a small group of parents who know very little about what they are usually talking about from coaches, to league structure, to the college recruiting process. And every other post devolves into pseudo-scientific breakdowns of the pandemic that feature even less understanding than the soccer talk.
I’d like to propose the owner of this forum take it down for the general good. It’s a cesspool. A smaller cesspool than the old forum, but a cesspool still.

The problem is there is no youth soccer to talk about. Just avoid the forum until there is.

I don't like CNBC, Burger King, and knickknack (that's actually how you spell it) stores. I have written them all asking that they close down on my behalf. No such luck as of yet. In the interim, I just ignore them. Here, you can even ignore a thread if you don't like the issues/responses. No such luck at the knickknack store!

I could understand heavy thread-locking moderation, but I don't think deleting threads and the like is really necessary. I could even see a political/covid sub board, but at this point, that's the only thing worth discussing aside from the failings of ATLUTD thus far.

I too hate all the political talk and overall judging by both sides, but I do appreciate some of the soccer-specific information that’s been shared. So my vote is to leave it open. Scroll past the posts you don’t like (with a big eye roll) or just avoid it altogether if necessary. But don’t shut it down.

I'm not sure your post is really doing anything but saying "hey look at me I want attention, and I want to take my ball and go home because I don't like the topics being talked about." Guess what I think of that.....

Too bad really. It used to be a pretty great group of soccer folks. Now it’s 60-70% trolls. As soon as someone starts spam postings to spell KSA Rules, Concorde Sucks, or MAGA in the topics, you’ll know it’s come full circle.

Those burgers are nasty. I much prefer a Wendy's or heck even the new all meat quarter pounders from McDonalds (rest of their burgers suck too) than Burger King. I always question if those things already come frozen with the char marks and flame broiled flavor or not. My spidey senses say that is the case.

Growing up BK was my jam -- we could get a custom burger in a rapid manner vs McDs and our BK had self serve soft drinks. Now the whopper I've thought has always been nasty -- their go to was that nasty long breaded chicken sandwich with mayo and brown lettuce -- that was divine..... In addition their original chicken nuggets were more like real chicken than McDowels.... Chicfila was only in malls, so it was for special occasions.
It is funny how times have changed though, we would go to family breakfasts at McDonalds.

I can say I worked at Burger King and Wendy’s at one point in my life. My humble opinion is Wendy’s had the best burgers when the franchise first opened. When they had the newspaper tables and the burgers were served on wax paper. But I never go to Wendy’s now, their burgers are not good. Now BK was cool. I had to do everything in the store, unloading the trucks to making the food to running the register or drive thru. Their burgers do come frozen but that flame broiler was amazing to me. The patties don’t come with the marks on them but actually come from going through the broiler. Most of the time when they came through they were immediately made into sandwiches. Now if you come in a down time then those burgers stay up for an hour and they are supposed to throw them out. One thing I learned from working there is always make your order special so they have to make it. You can ask for a burger with no ketchup and ask for ketchup and you are pretty much guaranteed you won’t get an old sandwich. BK definitely had the best breakfast menu

You are correct on that my friend. That gave a lot of college students nourishment back in the day. That 99 cent menu was on point. I forgot about the salad bar, man that was fine dining.

Ok JUMP, given these crazy times, I will do something crazy this weekend to match. With the car's Sirius tuned to Rachel Maddow (actually MSNBC), I will head to the knickknack store w/ my wife to be a sea shell or lamp in the shape of a tortoise, and end the day with indulging in a Whopper. WTH! TOP THAT ANYONE!

The best fast food breakfast by far was Mrs Winners. The steak biscuit was awesome. If anyone of you are true Atlanta suburb Georgians then you’ll know the best fast food breakfast is Martin’s. Back in the 80s and early 90s that place could rock out some amazing breakfasts.
