Many clubs will be beginning team camps and practices over the next couple of weeks. We are comfortable sending our child to practices but I just have no clue how we can swing a fall season. I hope that I am wrong but how do you run a league with teams from multiple states? Many of the Georgia teams travel to Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, etc. I have a friend who plays out of SC and they are supposed to be traveling to NC and VA this fall. Virginia is still shut down and NC is headed that way I hear.
I am just wondering from a logistical standpoint is it even possible to run a multi-state league given the current situation?

I’ve had the same question for months, but does it really matter at this point? I say this because by now, pretty much everyone has already paid their fees for the upcoming season. So we get what we get. (Unless you happen to be at one of the few clubs that outlined the possibility of refunds...and that’s a very small number based on what I’ve seen posted on this board)

Sure it matters at this point. My question isn't about the money. Its simply how can you logistically coordinate a multi state league? Obviously one concern is folks may not be comfortable staying in hotels. One possible solution is to field fields midway between two clubs and just play two games on a Saturday (10am and 3pm). Everyone drives home that evening. Just a thought.

Assuming the other state is open, I actually dont see any issue with multistate leagues? If we are ok with kids playing soccer (on the pitch with 11 other kids) then how can we not be ok with travel? Just asking for a friend Here is one example from Marriott: clean.marriott.com/

I think they just postpone the Florida vs Georgia games for as long as they can and try in late September or October hoping to sneak them in before flu adds to Covid this year. Who knows though? They may get creative to find ways to get in games. At least for ECNL, NL, NPL/SAPL there are a few in state games.

The real question is how motivated they will be to get creative. If the money has been paid prior to a plan being laid out, odds are they will not be very creative as most of the motivation to do so is no longer there. Remember, these are unprecedented times so you may have to sacrifice some of those out of state games...

SSA has outlined plans for refunds so I'm not worried. SCCL Premier doesn't travel to except the Clemson area and maybe the Chattanooga area so travel won't be an issue. That is all within a day trip.
I'm not concerned lets get on with this and play and ignore all the other crap. No reason to close stuff up at this point if most of the southern states aren't closing things down why should club organizations.
My son has been training for the whole summer in some fashion with SSA or a private trainer so training isn't an issue either, as long as the local politicians don't stick their nose in stuff and the Karen's don't start complaining about stuff it all should be fine.

You're right.. except Florida. Florida is getting back into 'closing stuff down' mode.. so that may be an issue.

Remember, these are unprecedented times so you may have to sacrifice some of those out of state games... I have heard that AFU has a decent refund policy. UFA has a plan to stop monthly payments if we get cancelled and/or prorate refunds. NTH has a stop monthly payment policy as well and chose not to have people get new uniforms this year. SSA has a refund policy. Not sure who doesn't have some policy in place. I think they are motivated to make a season happen.

And I do remember Rush Union having something as well. Roswell, for one, has not outlined anything. While they did offer a refund in the spring (but asked for it to be donated back), they still have the same “no refund” language as previous years. Thus was curious about other clubs. Thank you.

Our society follows the "snowball affect" like when one district closes for "snow" they all fall in line. Good news is looks like the NFL is going to start and baseball starts this weekend. Once those sports are seen and some sense of normalcy return to the American psyche, I believe the soccer community will be less afraid.

Thoughts and prayers for the obese linemen That's what we're all missing! Damn, we could have eradicated this virus a long time ago had we remembered the thoughts and prayers!
