My kid heard from a few acquaintances that their SSA team has not started practicing yet. Don't they have a tournament in 3 weeks?
I was wondering if pretty much all metro Atlanta clubs and teams have started practice at least.

My daughter's team got a late start at practicing, only practiced 3-4 weeks and team camp starts next week. This is all HIGHLY concerning considering our team has been promoted from SCCLP to SCCL-CLUB. We aren't even confirmed for any tourneys yet ... another concern. ID camps (when available) here we come!

This is our second week of training.
I do remember a couple years ago when it was customary to start team camp the first week of August. Last year we started the last week of July, and this year it was moved up another week.

Team camp this week. First week of non voluntary practices start next week but hearing a couple counties shutting parks down again. Dekalb just shut there’s down through August, hearing Cobb and Fulton could follow suit especially with all the positive tests hitting HS sports right now.

This would be really disappointing to see happen...

They should realize that football is a higher transmission risk than soccer. They're LITERALLY always touching each other.

They’ve been closed since March for athletics and organized events.

I was wondering if pretty much all metro Atlanta clubs and teams have started practice at least. SSA's COVID decision was to offer free summer training to all U14 and under teams including rec that missed their Spring season. It was designed to be 8 weeks of regular twice a week practices and some scrimmages/internal games if local guidance allowed. It was supposed to be only offered to players that were registered in the Spring. It was open to players that have since decided to part ways with SSA but not offered to new players coming in for this upcoming season. It was a "make up for Spring". To accommodate this no U15 and up teams were technically scheduled practices. Some coaches that found their own time and field space did what they could. All new teams are starting back up this week and next. And yes, a lot teams are scheduled to play in tournaments in the next few weeks.

I was wondering if pretty much all metro Atlanta clubs and teams have started practice at least. As far as I know most SSA teams do not do any kind of team "camp" anymore. That has been that way for the last 2 to maybe 3 years. So our first training sessions are the week of 8/3, but the caveat that most of our team (and probably most teams) have been training "makeup" training sessions since middle of June with SSA.

They are older (U16 and up) teams from what she said.
