That's interesting. Aren't both Gainesville & Hall County Schools going back for in person learning, as opposed to digital learning like Gwinnett?

Hall County pushed the start back another week so I believe that is now August 24th or something like that and continues to alter plans on the fly. Gainesville City plans to start remote with plan for in person to begin in September.
Allen Creek is a shared park between the city and the county.

My youngest plays for Chiefs (err, "Rush Union") and she's had camp all week at the new Brook Run fields in Dunwoody (operated by the city). But our fields at Pleasantdale Park (operated by DeKalb Co.) are still closed because DeKalb is dragging their feet to re-open. Meanwhile Gwinnett has allowed UFA Norcross to hold practices at Pinckneyville Park since around early/mid June.

Yes it is cheaper to rent from City or County governments, but with that you are subject to their governance. Clubs should push to own their own fields to allow them full control... Just one man's opinion.

Just one man's opinion. Easier said than done. Closer in to town, land is extremely expensive and hard to come by making the only choices parks and schools. Even if you find land, it can be difficult. I remember 8 or so years ago, Concorde tried to buy their own fields off of Johnson Ferry in the Nancy Creek flood plain. The neighbors complained to the point that the county refused to rezone the land due to traffic concerns.

Even private fields have issues.. I was told that's why there's no lights at Metro - neighbors complained.

However, you can train anytime you like though except for night. So I hear NTH has been able to train over the summer even before some others could. So I guess there's come give and take with ownership over renting and such.

Those early training sessions didn’t take place at nth parks. NTH has used metro since just about the moment the governor said 10 people gatherings were allowed. I did see NTH teams training all through the pandemic "unofficially" in Alpharetta. I don't know what teams they were (mostly younger), but they had a lot of kids there. I saw many girls teams but even one boys NASA team.

Good to get some play in front of some coaches, before football starts in earnest.. How can anyone in any sport do a SHOWCASE during an NCAA dead period. D1 college coaches can not leave campus. Please explain what sport or how a showcase is defined.

Easy the same way that they do for Travel Baseball. Pay for their own tickets and wear street clothes and apparel not related to any college program. My son was offer a scholarship this summer by a scout for baseball. Don't be Naive as if it can't or won't happen. There would need to be a great deal of talent for them to even attend but if there is they will come! Interesting. I asked a friend if she thought a coach that is recruiting her kid would show up at something that is coming up near the school. She did not think so, but this statement makes me think it is possible.

Correct only NAIA and Div 3 can evaluate now I thought D2 schools could also? Nope, division 1 and division 2 are still in dead period through Aug 31 and expect that to be extended. Division 2 just extended theirs last week, they were to open up August 1 for now been pushed back to aug 31

“Nope, division 1 and division 2 are still in dead period through Aug 31 and expect that to be extended.” Really- I mean extending it to August 31, 2021 should be long enough.
