I'm pretty surprised that youth soccer in the US hasn't figured out that trickling out information and details is far better than waiting for a "big splash" of all the information. The more information you can give families earlier, the more it helps us plan.

Often some MLS clubs don't like parents asking questions. Parents are problems in their eyes and their is no reason to communicate with them.

Which is fine if they provide dorms and pay/take care of all travel and meals (from home/practices/games/etc). But if parents still have to get kids to games and map things around the family, they will have problems. Even if they dictate details, that's fine, just dictate them as soon as you have the information.
Hell, college and pro football don't really listen to fans, but they still publish schedules months in advance.

I think Minnesota United has a residential program, or were developing one. I know a player's family who inquired with them about the potential of residential a year or so ago. But...could be wrong. |

So looks like they will pull top players to form a team but stay with original club for regular season. Seems like a reasonable solution.
