Start of the dominos to fall. All ncaa Fall sports will be canceled by Labor Day. Maybe. There is a big difference between D1 and D3. So many D3 conferences and schools had already canceled. That has not happened with D1. Second, scholarships versus none. Third, revenue generating versus not really. One thing that I think may happen is that some of the athletes are saying "no way! I am opting out!" If that happens a lot then I agree that all will be done.

Schools aren’t going to take the risk, states aren’t going to allow coaches to take the risk, short of playing locally only or just deciding this isn’t a big deal there’s no chance. Another domino drops.... www.google.com/amp/s/www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/29600577/uconn-becomes-1st-fbs-team-cancel-football-season-due-coronavirus%3fplatform=amp

They went independent this year. With the conferences deciding conference games only, they had no one to play.

Personally I feel like the season has a big asterisk associated with it. There is some rumbling that if the NCAA cancels D1 championships that the Power 5 will hold their own championships for fall sports with each conference hosting a sport.
