Not a bad start given the weather. that storm that rolled in saturday night was brutal. Can't blame concorde for having to cancel, the weather down south was much different than the weather north. too bad though, always stinks missing games.
Unreal how ufa-norcross adi elite cup played all their games. That is 1 point for the merger! otherwise, they would have probably had to cancel once pinckneyville park got soaked Friday night.
i always like to look at scores around the city to see how teams played on paper. one stuck out like like a rotten tomato. coach should be ashamed of himself. in a u8 soccer game, a coach put 24 goals up another team. to make matters worse it was a UFA team playing another UFA team.

That has to be a typo or at least I'd hope no coach is that much of a jerk to crush seven year olds like that. I know it's hard to tell kids not to play their hardest, but there's also a lesson in sportsmanship - especially at that young age. When two teams are that mismatched, it's not good soccer for anyone.
I really hope that's a typo. If not - shame on that coach for doing that. Those were seven year old kids on the field not Premier League players!

There was a 23-1 game at the SSA tourney at U9 and multiple games won by 10 or more. It's disappointing that coaches would allow that.

no typos. it was real.. ugly.
if your team is that good, than just knock the ball around and play keep away. i get it, some coaches don't like to hold kids back, but use it as a coaching opportunity, don't embarrass your own club.
those coaches should be ashamed of themselves, especially the one that did it at u8.

WOW! That's just wrong and not helping the kids on the field at all. Even worse that it's your own club's two teams - I'm assuming the parents of the team that got beat that badly will be complaining to someone at the club - or at least I hope so. Poor kids - I cannot imagine being beaten by 22 goals at any age. Wow!

I agree with all of you the coach should never allow that to happen. We could have rand the score up this weekend in the SSA but after a commanding 2-0 score our coach held back and passed the ball around and not allowing shooting in the box. I have seen some coaches out of pride and self-centered acting do that and it really hurts the kids and the game.

That is just wrong, poor little guys!! I would have pulled my kid out, why subject them to that. Didn't the other coach do anything after 7-0?! The other scores are just as ridiculous

Yes, the UFA-NSA merger definitely saw one of it's benefits at the tourney when Pickneyville was closed due to all the rain. Many more options for fields. The Polo Fields were in decent shape weather wise. That's terrible about the run-up of the score in u8. While I sit on my hands alot on the sides and keep quiet that probably would've had me yelling at their coach. Enough's enough. Can't see that the other UFA coach took it well either.

Agree. There are ways to keep it down and still get a workout. Everyone touches the ball twice including the goalie and you can only shoot from a volley in the air. I know it's U9 but be creative. Put your best goal scorer in goal and don't let your other one past the mid line. That's very disappointing from those UFA coaches et al
