With this move today along with Mountain West yesterday, its only a matter of time before we hear more announcements.
Which conferences will follow? Will all sports move to the Spring?

Coach after spring season: “Great season men! Now go get some rest and I’ll see you here Monday morning!”

Here's a bigger thought. Football pays for EVERYTHING athletic department related at many schools. No football means no football revenue.
Do schools just start slashing athletic budgets for 2021-22 now? Will we see many sports cut? Will they seek to overturn title IX or put a "hold" on it? Do they even allow recruiting/scholarship signings for the 2020-2021 year? Do all seniors simply lose their final year of eligibility? If women's college soccer gets cut does girls club soccer take a massive attrition and financial hit?

In many schools it flows into the academic budgets as well. The students likely won't lose their eligibility. Several other conferences have already said that. I do believe they will sign kids for 2021 but there will be trickle down effect on the number of scholarships available at most programs.

In reality, if they are progressing toward degrees and weren't getting much NFL/NBA interest prior to this year, many of those seniors will simply move on. Only the ones with the dream and sufficient professional interest would take what is effectively a redshirt year late in their college career.
But assuming 30% stayed, that would have an impact on new scholarship allocation. Most schools would have to take less than 25 freshmen.

If college football is played in the spring, expect it to look a lot different. Just about any player who thinks they have a shot at the NFL will opt-out as they will not want to risk an injury. The NFL draft will still be in April, and once that takes place, no NFL team will allow a drafted player to continue playing for a college in fear of injury.
At the moment the ACC & SEC are planning to play this fall. If that happens, I expect the Big-12 to also play. There most likely won't be any Bowl games, or CFP, but it will be somewhat of a season...to go along with the NFL season which will most likely happen as well.

So is this going to be a disjointed Football season? Some play in the fall and others play in the spring? What about Bowl Games, Nat'l Championships, Recruiting, Rankings, Revenue, TV rights and other traditional spring sports like Basketball? Can they guarantee the games will return in the spring?
The revenue portion is what worries me the most. It's not just athletic programs that are affected, what about non-revenue generating sports, women's sports, employees/staff/personnel from both the Academic and Athletic parts of the college? Factor in the local community for example Columbus, Ohio and OSU - attractions, merchandise, hotels, livery, food services, restaurants, clean-up, taxes and ESPN/Fox-sports/etc. Then we move on to the high schools. Should they also cancel the season, if not will film be the only way to recruit? In sports like Soccer where coaches are filling in the 2002/2003 rosters, do they just move on to 2003/2004 and make the previous group the "lost year" Definitely interesting times for sure...

There won't be a National Championship this year if they all don't play at the same time, and they can't go far into spring without players opting out in fear of injury before the NFL Draft combine in March and draft in April. Maybe some of the bowl games still happen at the end of the year I guess if there's enough teams, but it would just be for whatever money they could get. Juniors and Seniors with NFL aspirations probably won't be playing in the spring unless they're still trying to prove themselves to the NFL GMs.

Do we need 2 posts talking about the same thing? Mods can these be merged together?
SEC/ACC/Big 12 will not cancel and frankly they are the only 3 conferences that matter anyway ultimately when it comes to National Championships recently.
