They really should have split the teams up at half time-that was unfair.

Time for Messi to move on to our little retirement league here in the states.

Time for Messi to move on to our little retirement league here in the states. LA or Miami certainly. Bummer. If he does it, MLS defenses may start to look bad. 🤥

Pure beat down, but we can’t put that all on Messi! This does bring up the discussion of “style of play”. As a soccer/futbol fan in training, this was a clear difference in style of play, that I was instructed to look out for...
That leads me to a question. Which local clubs... best represent the subtle but clear differences in style of play? Like Barca vs Bayern? Of course I’m referring to the older or select age groups where style is developed and noticeable to at least my novice eye. So, which clubs represent the Barca or Bayern style and wins out more often than not? Which is more beneficial for development and recruitment?

He still has a couple solid years in European football left. Barca is just a train wreck and hasn’t been able to fix from Neymar’s unexpected departure.

They have had some fantastic players come in there and flop or struggle for a while to get settled in. Coutinho and Griezman are two examples. I feel like I am watching some high school mean girls drama sometimes when I watch them. I understand that sometimes it takes a while to gel with your teammates, but at Barca it seems a bit excessive.

The average age of the starters for Barca is around 30. They need some youth to mix with the experience they have (Mbape?).

This is not a direct answer to your question about a style similar to FCB or FCB but.. IMO you’ll not find a youth club with a discernible philosophy across all teams. Talk is cheap. I will say that for years Tophat academy teams played a visible style which IS evidence of a philosophy for the young ages.. fostering an awesome foundation of skill and soccer IQ as the players get older.
