Not good. Escobar was crap especially after calling out the fan base.
Best player on the field is Bello.
We look like and play like a sorry USL team. I think it’s the first time AU has ever played without a DP on the field and it showed. Always heard the only difference between a USL team and an MLS team are the DPs.

This is not Atlanta United. This does not look like the club that committed to always set the bar one level above the rest of the MLS, and to become known one day as a top club internationally. This Atlanta United squad is a ghost of the team we had less than 2 years ago, which we were supposed to build on. I don't understand those who are surprised by the results or performance. We've known this, and it's been said many times before. Not much can change now or next match or next month. This is not a playoff side (even if we somehow get in with few good results should the ball bounce the right way), let alone anything more ... The FO is sleeping on the bed they've made, while most MLS teams including expansion sides have either caught up, or have surpassed us. The MLS overall seems to be improving and becoming more competitive as expected. Atlanta wants attractive/attacking soccer and fans will not settle for less. We got lucky with Tata and the players he brought. It will now take -not only smart but- massive player changes (very few current players should still be on the roster in January), coaching changes and a bit of luck, just to get to the level we once were sometime in 2021. My biggest hope for AU is having an owner like AB.

It’s bad
Front office has failed miserablely. Yea we won trophies last season - but was miserably boring to watch.
We have coaches coaching the 2s and the first team With zero professional coaching experience - that sums it up right there.
This roster would barely compete in the USL - it’s a joke.

I agree with everything you said except for the last sentence. Why does AB bring you confidence? Have you not seen the Falcons? He has proven that he will not get involved on player decisions or coaching decisions that are tough but will help the future team trajectory. He’s about making money. That is all. In fact I think he’s the type of owner you absolutely do not want in this situation. Oops. Quoted the wrong post! Should have been atlutd17

In soccer, I'm confident AB will hold the FO accountable. They have an extended grace period given the past success. He will give them another chance and if they still can't turn things around in 2021, will clean house if necessary. Biggest decision to be made is the next HC/Manager.

Will be interesting to see what Glass does, does he give Wolff the start again? I think Gallagher earned the start for sure on the wing.

Bello again is the best player on the field. Can’t imagine him being around next season. Dudes got to much an upside right now and he will be sold.

Was listening on the radio as we were traveling back home at game time...sounded like it was all Chicago for first 15-20 minutes then all Atlanta for next 20-25 minutes with the 2nd Chicago goal coming against the run of play. Sounded like the first 15 of second half was again all Chicago, then Atlanta was strong again and then back and forth until Chicago started to kill time at the end. Anyone watch who can confirm or dispute that? Did Jahn really have two very good attempts that were great saves by Chicago keeper?
This seems like Atlanta got rid of all of the star players and is using youngsters to try to fill the gaps. Bello sounded like he was doing well though possibly partly responsible for the second goal. Gallagher and Hyndman sounded like they were threatening. Hard to tell on the radio though...

I turned it on mid way through the first. Thought Chicago pretty much controlled the pace of the entire game. Could have easily been 4-1 Chicago.
Glass took Jahn off who was playing well and hit a post. Bright on wolf for him. Apparently after that change was made we only had 1 shot inside the 18 the rest of the game, a header from Escobar.
Jahn should have been left in the game.
I do think more and more, that Glass is nothing but Class, handling himself like a professional. He was given the keys to an old school porsche 924 -- it looks like a Porsche, but it's a Volkswagen under the hood. Front office is having him fall on the sword right now for this team, will be interesting if he sticks around next season with the 2s or looks to move on.
In my opinion, the back 4 is not playing well at all including Guzan. The back 4 have to be in sync, they aren't at all right now. yes, Escobar and Bello are good getting forward, but our defensive presence is lacking. The defensive mid, I guess it's Larentowicz isn't helping out in the defensive third. Defenders are standing and ball watching.
And watch our final third play, very little off the ball movement, players pass and then stand still.
oh and lots of speculation on Barco - not clear what is injury is at this point.
