But funny, nonetheless.

That second one is close to being against the rules with the attacker interfering with the keeper in possession of the ball which is a yellow card offense. I am a referee, would be interested in what other referees on here think about that one and whether they would call interfering with the keeper or not.

He's not moving toward the goalie or interfering, he's staying in place and just sticks his foot up as the keeper releases it. The keeper is responsible for not throwing the ball with someone standing still in front of him. No foul IMNSFHO.

My kid got a yellow for a similar offense last year. She is a ref and thought it was a tad harsh when it happened but mainly because she had seen it go unpunished a lot in the past so she felt she could get away with it.

If the attacker had been moving toward GK, or moving laterally to force GK one way or another, I'd have a different thought. But the attacker was standing there, GK ran to him and tried to wing the ball around him, natural reaction to stick a foot out. I'm pointing to the center circle and jogging backwards for the kickoff.

There was a little twitter conversation on this and most agreed, GK's fault for going right at the player who was just standing there. there was another goal worth highlighting from this game as well, talk about sending it long.....

not clear yet: from this link: "What is the exact future for these three MLS “2” sides? So far there is not a concrete answer. The USL-C clubs could drop down to USL League One, all three clubs could fold entirely, or the rumored MLS reserve league could be their next home. Expect more news on this front as it becomes available." www.bgn.fm/report-multiple-mls-2-sides-to-leave-usl-championship-league-1/

Friend of mine in Portland says MLS Reserves league if it gets off the ground or they’ll fold. It’s a money issue right now.

Another week, another new league launched. Business as usual in the Soccer world.

Another week, another new league launched. Business as usual in the Soccer world. Well, given the huge success and high profitability of the USL, it was only a matter of time before MLS got in on the action...

Is USL highly profitable? I get it and don't get it. I figured MLS and USL had a good relationship, I guess not.
So if the MLS reserves doesn't get off the ground the Timbers will fold???
