Overall a good start. SM's 03 team beat 3 ECNL teams in the Nike Select tourney and then have destroyed their opponents in the NL so far. 4-0m with a 25-3 goal differential.
Our 05's are playing well but with what we added over summer and a few covid scares, 6 of our starting 11 are new and they are still trying to find themselves. They are 1-2-1. In the Nike Select tourney, we had 4 players out combined over the three games and still had a lead at half in 2 of the games and a tie at half in the other. We just didn't have chemistry or depth to finish--our starting AM had joined the team the Tuesday the week of the tourney from DA.
But after seeing all the Ga teams we will play except for LSA, I still think we or LSA will win state cup, and we will attract a few more top notch players and be even better in year 2 under Sergio.
There are many girls wanting to come to us even below his age groups. He's also coaching a U12 team.

No doubt the 03's are doing well in NL. But looking at the tournament, they were a U18 Team playing down in a U17 bracket and they beat an 02/03 ECNL composite team playing down and a solid 04 ECNL team. So obviously they're a good team.
I'm being objective here, I get that you're optimistic about your kid's team.
Regarding the performance of the 05's in the Nike Select Cup, your kid's team tied the SCCL current 5th place team, lost to the current SCCL 4th place team and lost to SSA's NPL 2nd team (behind CF ECNL Premier).
You can come up with reasons/excuses for why a team has lost this or that, but all teams have to deal with injuries and quarantines and scheduling and all the other issues. Realistically it doesnt matter where you are at halftime, it's only the score at the end that counts. It looks like they're a pretty similar team to what they were last year.
It seems like you're discounting Inter and Impact in the 05 state cup draw (looks like your team tied Impact last time out and lost to Inter). It appears Tormenta will likely win the 05 NL bracket pretty handily.
In have no idea how many of the All-In 03's are 2021 vs 2022 grad year, but I'd guess it's pretty likely that after this fall the 05's will be the only All-In team in NL Piedmont (and it's always possible they may not, lots of games to go). Admittedly I don't know the NL relegation criteria, for all I know they're just playing it by ear again this year. But the 06's are a ways off (Athena A), the 07's aren't in the top half the GPL bracket and it doesn't look like there is an 08 team. The 09's aren't in the pre-GPL bracket.
Its always possible SM arranges another deal with GA Soccer though.
But good luck the rest of the way though.

I might be reading things wrong on the state cup page, but from what I see there are 6 teams participating in your age group (2005 U16 girls). Is that right? If so, I hate to say it, but who cares who wins "State Cup." What kind of "State Cup" is between 6 teams? That is like a regular tournament then.

2005 age group is 4 NL teams, 1 GPL, 1 A. I agree its not great representation, and i dont know why it isnt better.

It should not be called State Cup.

My only complaint is that it should include all the GPL teams and a few A teams. Its fine to me that its USYS-only teams, they arw GA Soccer. But they should be able to get 10-12 teams per age group. Id love it if our team waa involved, but IMO thats GA soccer's fault.
The format is great. There must have been some ugliness between the big clubs and GA soccer last ywar.

This year has been upside down-hopefully it will be a better tournament next year.
