So I'm in general against teams having to fly to regular season soccer games. Girls ECNL really should go the path of the boys and separate Florida into a new region. Maybe I'm an outlier with this thought, but it was a big problem with DA, teams traveling great distances for single games etc. It's always been identified as an issue with US youth soccer.
But the point of this thread really is this -- should there be national events this year that require teams to travel by plane? I'm just thinking what a disaster it could be if you fly to an event, and a kid or parent ends up getting a fever while traveling and can't return via the return flight due to the temperature? Imagine if it's team travel as well, with limited adults chaperoning a team? Seems just like a bad idea, but maybe I'm over thinking it a bit.
Seems like a good year to implement regional championships, where the max distance teams travel can be made by a vehicle vs having to fly across the country for a national event.

I’m just glad it’s something I don’t have to worry about.

I'm somewhat of a worry wort.....Got me worried a bit..... I'm also one that doesn't enjoy flying either, not because of fear etc, just find the entire process takes so long, especially in a city like Atlanta, where I'm a worry wort, and have to get the airport crazy early.

We already flew once. I won't drive if it is longer than 6 hours or so. Tampa is a flight for me and Orlando generally is as well. I don't have an issue with flying in general and would take the hassle of the airport over driving any day. As an aside I do think that it would be great to do some more regional mini showcases though. I have not had my temperature checked at an airport but I do agree that if I had a fever and could not fly home from Texas or California or something like that it would be awful. I have been in hotels sick in the past and flown sick in the past while on work trips (healthy when leaving but got sick while away) and it sucks!
