Add Carleton and Kunga to the list of homegrowns no longer with AU. Makes one wonder why the AU Academy continues to miss? Wonder if any changes will come?

I watched a few Indy 11 games last year. AC was playing very well and then he broke his wrist. It’ll be interesting to see what’s next. I hope he will make an attempt to find opportunity in a more soccer loving country because our current broken system doesn’t seem to be the place.

I mean the AU Academy is a business and homegrown contracts are given to those that show "possible" potential for future earnings. When those earnings or growth stop showing potential you move on. I say this as someone that really hasn't followed the AU homegrowns. Carleton to me has always seemed to lack that speed/explosiveness needed at the next level.
I'd be interested to see if their lack of success leads more young prospects to pursue college first.

I think it should be a cautionary tale for many...

If it wasn’t for the mls home grown contract, AU should shutter the academy. It’s been a complete failure, but one homegrown sold to Europe will easily pay off. Like investing in Pre IPO companies, just need one home run to pay off for 5 years of failure.
