With what has been happening with other tournaments around the country, has there been anything definitive on whether the boys tournament at the end of December and the girls tournament over MLK are going to be played? Seems like there is really no info on the Disney website other the ESPN Wide World still being closed.
I would think Disney would have said something by now in regards to either one. Last I heard from a parent a month or two ago, there was still nothing set in stone.
Has anyone affiliated with any teams hoping to go even been able to make plans?

The way it looks at this point events requiring travel and multiple overnight stays are doubtful at best, at least until late spring.

Just signed up for the US Club Lacrosse Nationals Jan 1-3 in Kissimmee at Austin Tindall Park. So I guess we’ll see.

We are told it’s still on for the Boys College Showcase at the end of this year. I’ll let you know as soon as we book the trip. Still waiting on the itinerary. 🤷🏻

Was talking to some girls today who said they were expecting it to be canceled for them (HS age). Not sure if they had any kind of insight, or just feeling the doom.

I’ve heard no refunds for Covid cancellations or team quarantines- what a joke

This in from Disney about the conditions:
Thank you for your application and confirming your interest in participating in the 2020 Disney Boys Soccer Showcase. We are planning for this event to take place from December 27-December 31, 2020. Because each of us shares a responsibility for the health of our community, we're proactively sharing information with you about what to expect ahead of your visit to support your planning. As you can see below, we have implemented health and safety measures after considering the guidance of government and local health authorities, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in addition to the U.S. Travel Association and Disney's team of health experts. Pre-Arrival . Team size will be limited to no more than 50, including all athletes, coaches and staff. . All players, coaches and staff will require a negative PCR test within 72 hours prior to competition. It is strongly recommended that testing occur prior to travel. § If any member of the team (players, coaches or staff) tests positive, the entire team is disqualified from the competition. . A waiver, with Covid-19 language, must be completed by each athlete prior to participation at any event held at ESPN Wide World of Sports. . Spectators will be limited to no more than 50 per team and teams will be required to pre-register their spectators. . Each team will be required to designate a safety representative responsible for ensuring compliance with safety measures by that team's athletes, coaches, staff and spectators. They will be required to do the following: § Attend a safety briefing prior to the event § Confirm acceptance of the responsibility in writing § Sign a sworn attestation of the team's PCR negative testing results under penalty of perjury Arrival at ESPN Wide World of Sports . Everyone will be required to answer a health questionnaire and undergo a temperature screening with no-touch thermometers each time they arrive at ESPN Wide World of Sports. § If any member of the team, including spectators, does not pass the health screening or is displaying a temperature of 100.4 F or above, the entire team is excluded from the competition until a negative test is provided to the team's safety representative. Game Play . Cleaning and sanitizing procedures have been enhanced throughout ESPN Wide World of Sports. . Temporary adjustments are in place to promote physical distancing throughout ESPN Wide World of Sports. . All athletes will be required to wear face coverings at all times, except when actively practicing or playing. . All spectators, coaches and staff will be required to wear face coverings at all times. Additional measures may also be in place during events and will be communicated to the team's safety representative upon confirmation and closer to the event.

Glad to see they’re being smart about not making these kids wear masks while they’re actually playing.
As for the negative test 72 hours prior, that will require a lot of coordination by teams prior to leaving town and making sure everyone is able to get a test result back in time. Looks like the safety person has to simply sign a form saying everyone tested negative. Not sure how the whole perjury thing is even enforceable if someone did lie, but at least Disney is trying to keep that from happening.
Then there is the whole team being excluded if anyone flunks a health screening at the entrance. That should be easy enough for teams to deal with. Simply take your temp before leaving the hotel to make sure you’re good. Or have the team manager arrange a meeting point outside the entrance where they take everyone’s temp before even trying to enter.

We were told yesterday that we will NOT go to the Boys Showcase due to the rules and risk involved to play. Also, making reservations at this point is just ridiculous.

From the Sept press release moving FL to Phase 3 - full reopening: GOVERNOR DESANTIS SHARED THAT CAPACITY RESTRICTIONS FOR DISNEY WORLD ARE SELF-IMPOSED AND THAT HE WOULD LIKE TO THEM TO GO “TO A GREATER CAPACITY.” Two big national lacrosse tournaments being held in the area over the holidays. One at Northeast Regional Park Facility and one at Austin Tindall Park. Have heard teams from up North (most LAX teams are from the NE) are voluntarily choosing to participate and then going through the mandatory two week quarantine once they return to Yankee-Land. Wonder why Disney decided not to hold the soccer tourney.

Yesterday UFA communicated via our girls team TM that UFA will not be participating in the 2021 Disney Showcase or Jeff Cup. We’ll now shift to the SCCL Cup. No more explanation or information was given.

My daughter is scheduled to guest play with a higher level team for Disney, but I have not received any info yet.

My daughter is scheduled to guest play with a higher level team for Disney, but I have not received any info yet. Yes. This was regarding UFA Forsyth NPL. Note that the statement wasn’t that our specific team wouldn’t be participating, it was that UFA will not be participating in those two events. Now I can’t know if this was a direct quote, or an interpretation of the message. Your child’s team may be going; I don’t know. Yet, it may also be that the coach and TM are trying to line up options before announcing it to players and families. I was both disappointed, and relieved to hear it. I don’t want any conflicts with potential new policies that could enforce a mandatory quarantine from school, or school sports after any out of state travel.

As TM for my daughter's team, I just received an email from UFA Forsyth stating the following. This was sent to all coaches and TMs.
"UFA has decided that due to the pandemic, teams should not attend Jefferson Cup in March. All teams are encouraged to refrain from attending any tournaments that are more than 4 hours away at this time."
They are also changing up their quarantine procedures to match up to the new CDC guidelines. Meaning, if you have been exposed to someone infected, you can take a test on day 5 after exposure. If that test is negative, you can return on day 8.
