I'm curious if any SCCL-C teams are choosing *not* to play in the tournament with it having been moved to January instead of May.

It's a strange situation. In the meantime I encourage you to go watch the State Cup semifinals tomorrow. Nobody talks about it here but it might be of interest to see the level.

Unfortunately Roswell 06B won’t be able to attend due to the date change.

UFA Forsyth sent an email out yesterday to all coaches and TMs that their clubs would not be participating in Jefferson Cup or any tournament more than four hours away. My daughter was supposed to guest play with a team going to Disney, but that is now off the table.
Her current team will now be playing in SCCL Cup. I received that info last night.
Anyone have any info on where it will be played this year. Tournament website just says venues will be announced later. With it only being about a month away, I would think all that had been ironed out. Our coach thinks it will be based out of Forsyth county like State Cup was in 2019 and scheduled for originally in 2020 before Covid.

Forsyth would be the required location IMO unless they can secure Silverbacks park. No telling what the weather will be like Mid-January.

January is some of the worst weather for soccer in atl. cold, wet, rainy, just flat out nasty outside usually. I remember back when NPL was a winter league thing, kids were miserable playing in those conditions.

Not sure if you saw this but Rachel @ Concorde appears to be handling the administration for this tournament - her email is at the bottom of this page: soccer.sincsports.com/TTContent.aspx?tid=SCCLCUP&tab=1I'd shoot her a note to see what she can tell you.

I'd assume the goal will be to utilize turf fields across the city.

Yes hearing Fowler, East Roswell, Brook Run, Franklin Gateway, & Mudcreek being considered as multiple locations. It’ll be like that last true State Cup up here before SCCL, spread across the Northern Suburbs.

According to SINC Sports, the venues are Georgia Soccer Park and North Mount Carmel Park. Hopefully that isn't the case.

Surely there won't be a ton of competition for the turf parks on a weekend in January.
Also, the way the Mt Carmel and Lovejoy fields have been overused for the past year and a half+, they're going to have to something drastic down there to repair the fields during the summer.

I don't know but my son's SCCL-P team in not participating for various reasons. Originally his team and parents were told it was mandatory, but lack of parental and kid interest for it since we were a lower bracket team and chances are we would be put in a bracket where they get beat 5+ goals in all the games forced the club and director's hand (parents always win if they stick together). Second of all this was a horrible weekend to plan it. Regional Futsal tournament is that weekend as well, and a lot of kids sign up for futsal in the winter and that tournament is the high point of them doing futsal, so they were going to do that over outdoor since they didn't know about SCCL Cup being moved until after they had already signed up for futsal.
I'm good with them doing an SCCL Cup for the older ages but they need to look at doing it the beginning of December when normal tournaments happen or doing it in late May when High School Soccer is over. The MLK weekend will never be a good weekend for various reasons.

It also has to be MLK Weekend as Fc Alliance’s girls teams won’t finish their season until the second weekend of January. (Girls Hs soccer is a Fall sport in Tenn). So until ECRL comes in and makes the top level SCCL obsolete in 2 years this is just how it’s going to be.

I understood ECRL Georgia could start as early as Fall '21 and yes it would make SCCL-C obsolete competitively given the level/depth variance among clubs. The rest of SCCL should not be affected, plus is based on promo/rel and the differences between C, D or lower levels are small anyway.

I've heard no such rumor. It would make sense as that's what is happening around the country.
The girls ECNL/ECRL needs to mirror the boys, Florida adding teams and getting its own division.

Florida has plenty of ECRL teams and a league all of its own. If they changed SCCL here into ECRL (mirroring how many other places do it with ECNL having one team and sometimes other clubs being in it) it would work except FC Alliance.

Right, but Florida needs to add USA, IMG and Weston to ECNL and create its own conference...making the SE conference GA/TN/AL like the boys.

Speaking of SCCL Club, it's disappointing how many teams couldn't complete 10 games, yet many/most of the SCCL Premier teams were able to complete their scheduled games.

Right, but Florida needs to add USA, IMG and Weston to ECNL and create its own conference...making the SE conference GA/TN/AL like the boys. The problem with TN being in the same ECNL Conference with GA & AL on the girls side is, their high school season is in the fall. So, they would essentially have part of November, December and part of January to play their entire schedule.
