This was mentioned on another post, but I believe it deserves its own thread. Pretty impressive:  Norcross Generation adidas Cup LinkIt is here, the big announcement we have been waiting for!! The Norcross GENERATION ADIDAS Cup is one of only two tournaments nationwide that is backed by the Generation Adidas Program and is the new name of the formerly known Norcross Nike Cup. We believe with this elevated status and support our tournament will continue to give the best experience and competition that it always has provided only under a new name. The winner of the Under 16 Boys Adidas super group will not only lift the cup but will be handed and all-expense paid trip to Bayern Munich for a week of training and development.This is just one of the bonus items that Adidas has brought to the tournament and we are super excited to see which of the teams will win this award. We already have teams from CO, VA, MA, GA, AL, SC, NC, FL, TX, MS,OH who applied early to get their place. |

Yes, indeed it does deserve its own thread. I thought about doing the same last week, so thanks for the thread. This is very, very impressive. Talk about raising the standards in Georgia. It is inspirational to U16 Boys teams across the nation who will apply and qualify for the Super Group: to work hard, to bring it all, to work for the TEAM. C. S. Lewis said "You are never too old to set a new goal, or dream another dream." In this case, the youth are being offered an opportunity to dream. And then to understand that "A dream does not become reality through magic, it takes, sweat, determination and hard work." It is accomplishments and opportunities such as these the will help raise the level of the game in GA! Big UP!

good news bad news.
the winner of the u16 supergroup no longer gets an all expense paid trip to Bayern Munich...
the winner now gets an all-expense paid trip to Real Madrid!
The Winner of the U16 Boys Super Group presented by Adidas will win the Cup and win an all-expense paid trip to train and play at the home of the UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid FC for their team!!!!
We already have over 100 teams from 10 states represented and there is still time to make sure your team has the chance to play in the Generation Adidas Cup 2014.

Count down to this tournament begins, looking forward to seeing quality of U16 Super Group. Also noticed modification - cost of flight to be borne by players families - still awesome.

Soccermom... I did noticed that..lol Looks like someone was doing the match and was like..."need to change that"
More and more tournaments are starting to offer this type of hook.
I hear a national goalkeeper war tournament is coming and they are doing something similar. The national champions will get all inclusive trip to UK to attend a residential ID camp and gear sponsorship.
As the tournament dates get slimmer and more are fighting for registration they will do more of this type of marketing to get the bodies.
