yea, philly on a roll making some $$$
I guess that is the million dollar question -- as a fan of team, I want to see my team win, that is great if you sell players and make money, but at the end of the day you also want to win. The way the mls is set up clubs can't necessarily, sell players and then buy new players, so they are limited. makes it harder given the 3 dp slot rule etc.

How does the saying go, Iron sharpens Iron. I will say that I think US soccer players can play at the highest levels. To get consistent world class play from our American youth, they have to be exposed to a myriad of playing styles, coaching philosophies and then ply their trade against and with some of the best in the world. While I understand that we all want AU to win domestically, the successful academies all align with a partner club in Europe and give their promising academy products a chance to go over to play, train and develop with the added hope that they get seen and scouted. That will open up options for sign & trades to those European teams which in turn fills the coffers of AU so they can trade for replacement developed players to keep winning in the domestic fixtures. It also has the added bonus of keeping them in the black...
p.s. Don't they have an alliance with Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership

oraclesfriend thought you might find this article interesting. Doesn't AU have a "partnership" with Aberdeen, who also happen to be in the Scottish Premiership 🙉🙈🙊 Rangers will sign US teenager Francis Jacobs in the summer Rangers have completed a deal to sign Orange County teenager Francis Jacobs, the youngest professional player in US soccer history. Jacobs turns 16 in March and is expected to join from the USL Championship side — the rung below MLS —later this year. Who is Francis Jacobs? The midfielder, who has a UK passport, turned pro in August 2019 at the age of 14 years, 4 months, and 29 days, making him a few weeks younger than the much-hyped Freddy Adu when he signed his deal with DC United in 2003. Adu never fulfilled his potential but there are high hopes that Jacobs, who was deemed physically mature to be accelerated into a first-team environment at such a young age, will be allowed to develop without the same intense pressure. How have Rangers spotted him? The two clubs formed a strategic partnership in December 2019 founded on “football, youth development, and commercial activities” with players moving between both clubs. He was one of three Orange County youngsters to train with Rangers in December 2019 and he also impressed when invited to compete at the Alkass International Cup in Doha, arguably the most prestigious U16 tournament in the world. The deal is believed to include a sizeable sell-on clause for the California-based club. The tie-up was also the subject of a four-part documentary on CBS Sports called 'Path to Glory', which included the experiences of Rangers academy products Cammy Palmer, Matthew Shiels and Danny Finlayson who joined Orange County on loan last season.
