That rumor has been going around now for almost 2 years & I'll believe it when I see it officially announced.
As an Arsenal fan, the bigger rumor I keep hearing is that he has already agreed to move to Fenerbache in Turkey. Apparently he is friends with the owner, and of course he is from Turkey, so it does make sense.
Again, I will actually believe it if/when he is officially announced by a new club.

I heard Fenerbache too.
He'd only go to MLS if he was weighing how much his M10 brand might grow if he played in the US. The wages wouldn't compare. 2020 player cap was $1.6M in MLS. Maybe lower in 2021.

I think a couple things need to happen for him to come to the US. 1. He needs to get some sort of deal for his M10 brand. 2. He needs to be offered some sort of equity stake in DC United. They cannot pay him anywhere near what he currently makes, so something needs to be done to makeup the difference. Whatever it is, and wherever he goes, I hope it is soon. |

“Mesut Ozil's brother has dropped a massive hint which points towards the German's imminent departure from Arsenal.
The Gunners star could be about to achieve a January exit having previously stated his intention to see out his contract.
Ozil's deal at the Emirates expires in the summer and he would then be available on a free.
