2 additional subs if required. If used, opposing team would get 2 additional subs. I believe this is a trial-I think it’s a good decision.

When it comes to the safety of the players I too concur that this is a good decision. Do you think it's why the EPL refused to go the way of 5 subs in lieu of this hybrid 5?

It would be a good rule that can only have one subbing window in the last 10 minutes of the game. I hate the delay tactic of sub after sub near the end of games.
