Big shout out to LSA. Well run tournament!
Nothing like people trying to white knuckle it home the snow/sleet last night. To be fair, the weather conditions did worsen quickly but why have kids playing in 35 degree rain/sleet?
Today was even better! Push all games back an hour so the first games start at 9AM. Smart! You know 8 hours of rain, sleet and snow typically dries out in the first hour of the day.
A few hundred people drive over an hour to get to your soccer fields that are covered in snow/ice.
Then your tournament director decides to notice that the fields are covered in a sheet of half inch snow/ice and cancels the whole thing at 9AM.
Why did no one check the fields at 6AM?
I can literally think of no excuse for this morning other than a total lack of consideration for the families playing in your tournament.

Very unprofessional. Did they even give you guys a refund? I agree, very unprofessional. I have heard this same scenario from a few friends who were playing in the tournament, so it isn't just a select few people complaining. As for refunds, tournaments typically don't refund once a team plays a game. Since all games were completed on Saturday I would say there is a less than 0% chance of any refunds.

Absolutely ridiculous! They should not have delayed only an hour this morning. They should have canceled last night. It was snowing hard in that area last night. Easy to predict what the fields would have been like this morning!

Love seeing the pics from Inter Atlanta and Cherokee Impact teams that were up there at Allen Creek this morning with the 2-3 inches of snow on the fields.
Did someone think they were going to shovel the snow off the fields and get the games in??
From what I saw that’s all they needed to do at 8:00am before all that started to melt and then I’m sure the fields would have been okay-ish. Though this is what Lanier and these early Feb tournaments look like. Can anyone remember Lanier actually getting this event in 2 years in a row?
Remember the “snow” storm that hit SSA last year at this time too? That was a disaster too.
Stop signing up and playing in these events if you can’t deal with the weather, remember you are the customer and have the checkbook. 😂

As someone who had kids their on the top teams for years, this is a perfect reflection of how poorly run LSA is. Still shocking that somehow they have mls on the boys side as their management is incompetent

Still shocking that somehow they have mls on the boys side as their management is incompetent Would you like to ponder for a few mins why they have the mls on the boys side and get back with the group? I will save you the time. There is a very large Hispanic population up there that historically produces decent soccer talent. MLS too many people favors Latin and South American styles. Once you start putting 2&2&2 together it’s not hard to figure it out.

Atlantasoccerdad, what does that even mean? LSA has MLS only because they have Hispanic kids ..?

....and how is that relevant to snow and the cancellation of a tournament?

....and how is that relevant to snow and the cancellation of a tournament? he was responding specifically to a post questioning how/why LSA boys are connected to MLS.

How is LSA structured on the 07 boys side.
The 07 boys have LSA Archies playing in the NL Piedmont Conference and I assume this was previously CFA Gainesville.
During the LSA tournament the 07 LSA team played GA Express around the same time the LSA 07 MLS team played Inter according to the MLS Next schedule. How is this possible or am I missing something here. The LSA 07 team also beat LSA Archies in this tournament and are ranked #1 in the state according to the "Sinc Sports" site which has its known flaws.
