Why do you not have NTH & SSA listed as part of SCCL Club, has that officially been announced? I can see SSA not having a team there since they are adding GA & DPL, but NTH isn't really changing the top of their structure and they are currently part of SCCL Club and doing well. Personally I wish SCCL Club would change to ECRL. However, with SC teams already part of the Carolina league and Tennessee girls playing High School in the fall, what clubs do you use to create the league. If FC Alabama (BUSA) is part of it, I would like to see a second team in Alabama so it isn't a day trip for a single game. I really haven't minded the day trip to BUSA and it saves on the hotel expense-2.5 hour drive, play a game, get something to eat, and 2.5 hour drive back. The trip to Knoxville on the other hand may be different. It would be nice to add a second team in Tennessee to SCCL Club. 3.5 hours each way for one game is going to be tough. I understand the Birmingham trip for a good portion of Metro Atlanta. However, for some at AFU or GSA the trip is easily 3 hours each direction. I have yet to make the trip each direction in less than 3 hours, and we have done it 3 times so far. Being in a car for 6+ hours to watch my child play about 50 minutes of a single game is a bit rough. I would still prefer a second team out that direction and make a weekend of it. As for the Knoxville trip, I agree 1 million percent. It's bad enough having to travel the distance, but in our age group they don't even have a competitive team. I'm not 100% positive, but I don't believe it is the second team at FC Alliance that is in SCCL. If it is, there is a huge talent gap between their ECNL team and their second team. IMO, if they keep FC Alliance in SCCL next year, they need to add a second club in the area.

Thats true in all age groups and genders I think. I don't think they'd be able to convince 3rd team families to make that trek to ATL for the beat downs.

I’m not so sure...look at AFCs boys second team in NPL (U-14 and below). They travel a long way and their goal differential is like -99.

I agree, but note that it is not up to the club if they "do" ECRL. ECRL should come to Southeast in a bigger capacity than just Carolinas or Florida as a) support for the clubs in ECNL and b) a proving ground for those that aren't in ECNL. Agreed about ECRL coming here. UFA probably could just "do" it in another state if they wanted and it would be better than NPL and same travel that they would be stuck with now. However, I meant that UFA has enough of a voice to start campaigning for it amongst the current SCCL Club teams. It would be to all of their PLAYERS' benefits. Whether the clubs are willing to give up some control is another story. I understand how ECRL benefits UFA for their second team but how does it benefit any of the other clubs within SCCL? This UFA dilemma might be why it was rumored UFA applied to GA. GA and DPL would make sense if NPL is really going away or if they don't want to be the only local club in the league

All of the college coaches know what ECRL is now. BRAND RECOGNITION. From a recruiting standpoint it helps your kid to be in a league that people have heard of. Considering that SCCL is some of the club's second team (AFU, GSA) it would be reasonable to think some of those kids want to play college.

AND ... IF ecrl comes to ATL do "they" just invite the ECNL Clubs to enter their second teams into the league? OR ... Does ecrl want other non-ecnl teams to test their strengths like on the girls side NTH, Roswell and AFC etc?
IT IS VERY EASY to KEEP WATERING DOWN SCCL CLUB if you have ECNL, GA, DPL, ECRL replacing NPL etc etc etc
The big six clubs who created SCCL in addition to controlling all the money and dangling the fancy new alphabet in front of parents don't win by entering second level teams into all these other alphabets.
I just want my kid to play meaningful games (win or lose regardless as long as they get quality training and quality coaching leading to quality minutes played against same quality level teams)
WHY is that so hard to accomplish?
Follow the money ...
But I don't see how DPL/ECRL/NPL etc financially benefit a club MORE than the SCCL league THE CLUBS CREATED?

As was pointed out above, there are plenty of second team players that are interested in playing in college. IMO having a more recognized league for those players is what is best, as opposed to something that the local clubs created to make themselves more money. I honestly don't care if that league is DPL, NPL, ECRL, SCCL, etc., I just want something that is actually putting the kids first instead of the directors & clubs that are making all the money. I realize I am living in a dream world, but my loyalties are with my child and not the club she plays at.

Exactly it’s neither ... its completely with the parents and the players. Even the coaches have no club or league loyalties. A “more recognized league”? When they all insist they are the best platform and most meaningful? Girls Side “Second team player” I will define as clearly not playing on a National Team or top performing D1 school (not looking at FSU, Clemson, UNC, Sanford, etc). Not playing at Concorde Platinum or GSA undefeated teams and not a Tophat GA level player. Everyone else we have all agreed on any given game day a SCCL team could best an NPL team. A DPL team could best an ECNL team. SCCL teams have played well matched against ECNL teams out of town etc etc etc. After the top 36 girls in an age group in ATL are pull aside (mostly by filling TH and CF and the rest as those truly one or two stand players on the rest of the teams) the next let’s say 150 girls (15 per team x 10 teams in Lower ECNL, DPL, ECRL, NPL, SCCL, etc). If we put egos and clubs and leagues aside .... There isn’t much that differentiates those next 150 Sure ECNL is a very well recognized league but Why would I as a parent pay more $$$ for name recognition in a league that in their age group of the five ATL three will likely finish the bottom three in the conference. How is playing less than half a game and getting beaten down for 10 games help to develop those 150 players? Then at the risk of waking up Tophat dragons The club provides meaningful training to develop players but does the league DPL provide enough benefits for those SSA, AFC players, Roswell players that fall in that “second group” of 150 NPL failed to provide something for that group (if it had why would SSA and AFC leave unless it was financial - which how does leaving NPL for DPL benefit the club?) ECRL in ATL is an interesting idea but my point is in ATL that looks like: CF third team (which I guess the next in the pecking order is their SCCL Club team ... AFU team (assuming AFU puts their SCCL club team in) UFA team (assuming the NPL team instead of the SCCL Club teams) Roswell SCCL Club teams AFC NPL team instead of DPL? SSA NPL team instead of DPL? So ECRL is a better choice when it’s actually the same set of 150 girls currently playing in 3 different leagues (NPL,DPL,SCCL Club) and frankly I think AFU,CF, and (UFA) could all benefit from a pro/rel system between ECRL and ECNL if Roswell, AFC and etc join an ECRL Bottom line it’s all a crap shoot year to year for the past six years in ATL for those second level 150 girls. The only thing for certain is what it is now won’t be that next year! Hasn’t been the same thing back to back years for those girls since about 2016 when DA and the (shhhh age mandate) started the soccer shizat show for ATL girls. That’s pretty much an entire “select soccer” “career”

greenmonkeyI like your response, and regarding the next 150 I agree. The league shouldn't matter provided the players are getting good training and playing quality competition. Unfortunately everything is watered down because things are split between so many leagues. The 2 points I was trying to make: 1. I think having the name of ECRL is better than SCCL because it is more widely recognized. In all honesty, there probably wouldn't be one bit of difference between ECRL & SCCL here in Atlanta, but college coaches are more likely to know and trust ECRL over SCCL at this point...especially college coaches outside Georgia, Alabama & maybe South Carolina. 2. You mentioned that you don't see how those other leagues benefit the clubs more financially than SCCL. Personally I don't care if it is financially better for the clubs because my main concern is player development for my child, not the financial success for the big clubs in ATL. From my understanding the Big 6 aren't at any risk of closing due to financial issues.

(Same is true in DPL to GA for InterAtlanta). It actually looks like GA and ECNL are trying to make their own pyramids. Lavers even mentioned pro/rel in the latest interview (at least that was what the article said...)

That’s interesting: “ Lavers even mentioned pro/rel in the latest interview (at least that was what the article said...)”
Wasn’t Lavers the one that said pro/rel is destabilizing? Or am I thinking of someone else?
