Are there any websites that you find reliable for GHSA soccer scores or rankings?

eurosportscoreboard.com is as best as you'll get, looks like it gets updated directly by the coaches or their representative. For what they're worth, rankings come out on Mondays

Should be a good game this Thursday on the girls' side: Blessed Trinity @ Westminster This should be an amazing game. Several national team players on both sides. I think Westminster has a few that play basketball though and might not be done with their season yet.

Maybe I am recalling incorrectly but I don't remember my high school seasons overlapping so much even if we went deep into playoffs. The max I recall is one week and that only occurred if we were semi-finals for state. Am I alone in this? Seems like each sport has a longer game season. It seems to be such a shame that kids miss several competitive games in one sport for another.

I will also add it seemed you had a couple of weeks off between seasons, too. Good to rest/heal.

Yeah, the Westminster basketball team won their State tourney game last night so those girls are still out. The National Team player that has been committed to UNC for a couple years is one of them.

I distinctly remember our basketball team playing region games against schools where they had players still playing football. This was early November I would bet. Also, I remember my senior year, our first soccer game was February 21. We did not play that night due to some ice in the area, or the threat of ice in the area, or something like that. This is obviously a good bit later than the first games played this year. I don't know why I remember that date, when I cannot remember the names of my kids sometimes, nor can I remember what I had for breakfast. I know at our rural, mountain high school, boys often go straight from football to basketball or wrestling. Often girls move straight from basketball to soccer or track.

Yes well football ran over but volleyball, cross country, etc did not and none of the winter sports ran over into spring sports except by possibly a week.

Didn’t Winter sports get a two week delay to starting due to Covid, so they’re 2 weeks behind normal.
Yes high school sports have been adding more and more games ($$$) to their schedules the last 20 years so playoffs run into other seasons. Ten month school year can only be split into football (5 months), basketball (3 months) and everything else ( 2 months).

This is going to be a good one and I’m looking forward to seeing the freshman midfielders on both teams!

The season overlap has been the same for at least the last quarter century. This year it seems to be one week worse due to COVID delays. Always been a problem, particularly for smaller schools, which tend to have more multi-sport athletes. Oh well. It is what it is.

The game didn't disappoint - Westminster won 4-2, but BT had more of the ball most of the game. A couple really good goals (and a couple off of defensive errors) with plenty of great individual play. Some controversy on Westminster's 3rd goal (a PK), that broke a 2-2 tie. Both teams showed well.

Quality chances probably relatively even. Watched the penalty a couple times in slow motion - can't tell 100% from the angle, but based on what we can see I'd definitely vote no penalty. Heard that Westminster had a few key players (including national team players) out for basketball and BT had a few starters out due to quarantine.

Yes tough call, was able to watch the scoring plays on the NFHS App. It looked as competitive as any D1 matchup! Maybe one of the few positives to come out of the DA demise, is high quality and prideful HS soccer all around. The season should provide a few more like this for the spring.
