Solar is on a whole another level! They appear to be huge AND well run.
The North Texas and Southern California clubs upgraded the big club concept by expanding locations to create HUGE player pools. I remember looking 4 or 5 years ago and FC Dallas and Solar both had 7 - 10 locations and teams from which to form one time when it came time for u13 and above.
For example, right now Solar has 14 2010 Academy teams from which to select the best players for their ECNL team next fall. I wonder how they keep all those players and families happy. The club is in 1st or 2nd place in every age group in ECNL.

TX (specifically Dallas area) and California (specifically Southern CA) soccer is really good and really deep.
