Parents
You may be playing against teams here in Georgia and you may think that your son/daughter cannot make a team that is "better" than yours. ( Better club, more girls get college looks, more successful overall)As you know there are always issues with parents, players, etc on EVERY team. So that same team where you think they are so called "locked up" and probably just need a solid girl here or there and the coach needs to make that decision to make their team better. Don't look back on what could of been when you actually talk to a parent on the team and find out what is really going on internally with a team...Oh and yes I know that if it gets out to your current team that you went to another tryout there may be issues..the choice is yours!!

Agree with the above. I’ll stop feeling the need to proactively engage other teams, and actively evaluate all other opportunities when I receive the “Player made team” email, or the coach can promise they’ll say to others seeking the same position, “no thank you, the position is filled.” The second one is more risky, some coaches don’t have the power stand by their commitments and tell an excited club director, “no” when a new shiny prospect shows up in the eleventh hour. ...or even after the official tryouts date has passed, during ‘supplemental’ tryouts. It really happens, and your kid better have a freaking backup plan if it does. I for one will never be caught in that position again. If it happens to you, you’ll have 12 months to be disgruntled, and plan to never let it happen again. ...not that I was bitter or anything. ;-)

Never take it for granted

Never take it for granted Congrats on the move! Sometimes you need a fresh start when the old club has already made their decision or impression on a player. It’s amazing what a new set of eyeballs can do for a player
