How does DA work compared to ODP?
Is there a single "home" for ODP around Atlanta, or multiple homes? Same thing for DA - is DA a big soccer training center somewhere or a league of select teams? I think it is too late for ODP for the fall, from what I hear. I don't know anything about DA, including how it works, where it is, etc.
Any input appreciated.

DA is focused on the boys and made up of two teams in GA: GA United Soccer Association - GUSA. It is an alliance between Norcross, NASA, UFA, AFC and Lanier. Each DA team practices at one of these locations and plays against other DA teams from other states. Age groups for teams are U14, U16, and U18. Here is link to DA website: www.ussoccer.com/teams/development-academy/academy.aspxGA ODP is for boys and girls and completely separate from DA. Goal of ODP program is identification. If you make the State ODP team, your player will try out for the Regional ODP team. GA ODP website - www.georgiasoccer.org/odp/what-is-odp.aspxDA rules say if you play DA, you can't play ODP or High School, which is not always popular with lots of players or parents. Most people will agree that DA has the better players, but ODP does offer good opportunities for recognition, especially at the younger ages. Hope this helps.

Silverback is right. I have one who has gone through ODP and moved on to DA and a second one just starting ODP. ODP is a great experience for the boys under 13. Once you get to U14 it is time for DA.
ODP is a state program. They take the top 40 or so boys. DA boils those boys down to the cream of the crop and that starts at U14. ODP seems to have become the feeder system into DA.
Both ODP and DA training are normally at designated sites. For ODP you have to try out and get selected at a preliminary tryout. Once you get selected from that you go to a state tryout. Pass that test you are on ODP. Too late for this year as the tryouts are over unless you have a very influential coach who can go to bat for you.
ODP is pretty inexpensive and DA is pretty much paid for.
Best of luck.
