Noticed that Jack Gurr is getting some playing time this morning. He's been playing with ATLUTD 2 and is currently a boys coach at UFA Norcross too, so I'm interested in seeing how he does.

Charleston looks bad. Very bad.
This game is the equivalent of a top 5 div 1 men’s team playing a 1A high school team.

I enjoyed seeing ATL play...even if the competition was sub par.

Yeah I'm seeing a bunch of tweets from ATLUTD fans & bloggers about how good we look today, but wondering how much you can really take away from this when the competition is clearly inferior??

This is the third or 4th time I’ve seen Atlanta United highlight balls like this for the Acadmey or first teams.
I saw one the other day, a kid played the crappiest ball forward from the academy. It was a floater moon ball going backwards, somehow the attacking player won the ball which led to a goal... it was a terrible ball played forward.
Huge balls sent forward that resulted in goals. Trust me I’m the first one to say I love big balls played in the box and sent forward. I don’t believe in one style of play only and like balls sent in over the top behind Defenders.
Play these balls at the youth level and your club is branded as a direct style only
My point is just this - don’t piss on a kid when he/she played a 50 yard ball into the box, because if you score off it, it’s considered the greatest highlight of our generation. Now if it’s a crap ball - that’s a different story...
