I like the young keeper. Solid 45 minutes of desperation defending too. Good win for the new manager.
I still think Dribble Dribble Fall Down needs to be sold for the first offer.

What a game. Got lucky on the handball call, looked like it hit his eye. But even without it, we held them scoreless with 10 men and a baby-face 18 y/o in goal for more than half the game. And Josef got some minutes. Good night for the 5 Stripes.

Watched this game live yesterday and re-watched again this evening. The fact that I re-watched says a lot. Watching the game, I got the old pre-2019 feeling of dejavu again(thanks yogi). For a first game with the new Coach Heinze Ketchup, I have to say he had a game plan that seemed to get the job done. No small feat on the road against a team in mid season form sporting a 20+ undefeated season so far.
As you know I've railed on here from time to time about Walkes, but he looked good and initially Miles was just okay. He wasn't as dominant as he normally was, but boy did he save the day with that late slide tackle to stop what looked like a sure strike on the kid GK Rios. Who btw had a night to remember. I must be a little sauced because unlike others I think Barco played very well and had some good chances. Plus I'm curious what his workout regimen is since his work rate was tops, even when he made that late run and dished to Josef(offsides).
The one part of the game I was worried about was our midfield and the pressure that would put on the backline(still miss Nagbe). I was very impressed with how the Lopez and Barco combo would squeeze in to add numbers to the midfield to thwart any attack through the midfield by Alajuelense. I believe Heinze Ketchup called it the midfield quadrant. Finally, I think Sosa played well and Bello needs to start exerting his will with both opponents and his teammates by calling for the ball.
All in all a good exciting showing. I hope this is the start of some fun times in the ATL...🙏🙏🙏

Franco is official, so your concerns for defense should be less now  I'd like to address the elephant in the room ... I'm worried that Barco will continue to get minutes. His hustle is mistaken for creativity, meanwhile, he continues his turnover tour. He has proven time and again that he doesn't have any passing instincts or situational awareness. How many more "Give him a chance" or "He's going to rise to the occasion" pleas are we going to hear? Again, he hustles, he can draw a foul, but he's missing key attributes that should ever warrant him being a starter. AU write off the loss in your ledger and trade him for whatever you can get, just get rid of him, free up a DP spot for someone who deserves it. |

I agree, but the more he "looks" good, the better our chances of offloading, oops dumping, oops again, I mean transferring him to some sap oops, I meant to some well deserving team that can spot a good deal with him. If we can find someone to take him for the bargain price of $15 million and we can break even and be free n clear of his shenanigans 👏👏👏 |
