So my daughter finished up her freshman year playing in college. Skills and tactics were there, physically and strength-wise she struggled. (She’s a tall, skinny, fast wing)
Her coach is challenging her to add good weight and get stronger in the off season. Any recommendations? Anyone used any of the sports performance gyms or any experience with strength training programs?
Also from a pure soccer skills standpoint she’s looking for a trainer for the summer along with possibly 2-3 other college players. If anyone has had good experiences would love to get some names. (We are in the Northern Cobb area but she doesn’t mind a little windshield time for the right training)

While I know many college athletes that return to the trainer that you to "make it", most schools have a sport specific program to follow. Has she asked her coach?

They actually supplied her with a training outline and a nutrition plan but honestly I’m not very impressed with it. Very basic in my opinion. Like compound lifts 3x per week, 3 sets of 12. Off days cardio, etc.

The only person that has soccer listed as a sport that they coach was a football and track athlete.

I didn't see anyone on staff with soccer experience. The only person that has soccer listed as a sport that they coach was a football and track athlete. Yea, not specific soccer training but agility/strength that translates to soccer. Many college players come back to train here in off season or summer. Not advertisment for them...just really like what they do for all athletes.

Talk with Cian Roche or CR ..lol at Athletic Republic Roswell.
He's been helping some of the Atlanta United boys and seeing great results. Small group or 1v1 sessions. Worth it for sure.

To get the foot work in, I highly recommend Luís Meneses or LM from Toca Johns Creek. Expect 300-500 touches on the ball a session. Hes amazing.

Pregnancy could add weight, might impact her speed in the third trimester. Find a nearby gym or Y that offers a variety of classes (HIIT, core strenght, boot camp, whatever). Anything she does at her age will be helpful. Well, except for my first recommendation. The goal is to not burn out or get injured over the summer.

Some clubs have trainings for the college kids only for when they are here in the summer. My kid just finished freshman year as well, I know she received some sort of a plan but I haven't seen it. Theres also summer leagues that they can join to keep training like WPSL

I know a lot of her former players, who come home from college return to Coach Nadine for summer soccer workouts. Not sure if there is a Strength & Conditioning component included but I do know when Nadine is done with you, being strong and conditioned is a side effect of her soccer training... 🙂🙃🙂

UFA always invites College girls to train. They get 15 to 20 each summer to come out and train. IM has them work on the different fascits of the game and then have small sided games with each other. Girls come from all different college levels from D1 to D3.

My daughter has been training with Julian Amedee at SFX for 4 years now. She comes to him for speed and agility specifically related to soccer. We have seen tremendous improvement and growth in her and we appreciate everything he does for her and all of his loyal clients. Highly recommend Julian for any athlete.

Curious... what does the average cost of these training sessions cost everyone?
If those that have already commented, and others that have experience, could post the cost/per week or session, it would help to calculate if this is something we could afford. Thank you!

On the Southside, there is Synergy Athletic Solutions and EPI (Elite Performance Institute.) Both are awesome for strength, agility, and speed.

One on One physical therapy has a wonderful acl injury prevention/strength and agility training program. The owner’s daughters are soccer players and have designed a very comprehensive program. Highly recommended
