So what are folks general impressions comparing NWSL to the FA Women's Super league. I watched Chelsea vs Man City yesterday and was much more entertained than a normal NWSL game. Granted, there was a lot more on line, and the winner was putting them in the best position to win the league. but both teams are loaded with talent and the first half was very entertaining.

When the best women from America actually play in the NWSL it is by far the better league. I do love how the European model is set up in terms of cup games and championship league. Right now the ladies that have built the NWSL as the best league are playing in Europe. Tobin, Press, Sam, Rose, Kerr, among others. A lot of the world's best talent is playing in Europe right now. It's hard to compete with that. Most leagues are all about the players. The best players are playing in Europe currently. However, it's great for the women game for all the leagues to be competitive. It'll also help with increasing pay for the game worldwide.

This is a great time to be a female footballer. As the women's game becomes increasingly popular in Europe (especially Southern Europe where the culture is rapidly changing to keep up with the North) we will see more opportunities for the top US players, and for very popular teams with large fan bases. Recent contract packages are telling and they will continue to go up. For some of those billionaire club owners in the UK it's still pocket change for the brand. NWSL will not be able to keep up.
As the sport grows among European women and their quality and numbers improve, it will become increasingly competitive and tougher for American players. I believe this trend will reflect on the next Women's World Cup.

Don’t have a dog in the fight as my daughter plays in 5A.
